My name is Markus, and I’m proud to introduce to you what my talented friends and I have been working on over the last few years – The Girl of Glass: A Summer Bird’s Tale. I had initially announced the game in 2016 as a part of the Square Enix Collective program, where it gained a 91% positive recommendation from players around the world. A lot has happened since then, though. For example, I decided to scrap the episodic formula. I feel this was the right decision, but it increased the development time significantly. Still, the plan was never to delay the game this long, but as always, life gets in the way of plans 😉

Now The Girl of Glass is almost finished and ready for the premiere. What’s more, I even have a playable demo ready for everyone who would like to try it!

Let me explain what you can expect from the game. It’s an emotional summer tale which combines a colorful point and click adventure with strategic turn-based combat to tell the story of Kristal, The Girl of Glass. Her name isn’t a coincidence, she’s a fragile girl who’s been granted asylum by the owner of the circus, where she lived and worked for years. Now she’s grown up and looking for the true meaning of her life. To do that, she decides to leave the circus… but it won’t be as easy as it sounds…

Features:

  • Branching dialogues to personalize your experience
  • Balanced combat with an emphasis on strategy over stats
  • Visual novel narration style
  • Traditional 2D painted and animated environments projected onto 3D surfaces to add depth to the scenes
  • A full orchestral soundtrack for total immersion in the story
  • Set in a fictional mid-20th-century European country
