Publisher The Arcade Crew (Infernax, Young Souls, Blazing Chrome) and developer JoyMasher (Blazing Chrome) will soon release the first publicly playable demo of Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider, a side scrolling action platformer channelling the golden age of 16-bit action games in a refined, full-throttle quest for revenge. Fans of classic action can slice into the demo via Steam on October 3 ahead of the full game’s Fall 2022 launch on Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation consoles and Amazon Luna.

Players will slice through two different levels from Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider‘s epic adventure. The demo’s opening moments follow a cyborg ninja, codenamed Moonrider, as it rejects its intended purpose and breaks out of the bioweapon lab they woke up in, sparring with the lab’s guardians and a climatic boss fight against one of the lab’s darkest creations. Rejoining Moonrider farther in its adventure, the demo’s second stage finds the state-of-the-art warrior in an aerial showdown, demanding precise leaps between airships before Moonrider breaks into a carrier for a challenging fight through its defenses.

Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider‘s design holds the best classic action game elements in the laser-precise sights of its starring ninja, keeping combat snappy, responsive and challenging. Powerful modifier chips are guarded and hidden throughout the adventure, allowing the ninja to customize its fighting style while gaining killer abilities throughout its quest for vengeance against its creators and fellow regime-upholding super soldiers. The game’s gorgeously desolated world expertly recreates the 16-bit era through intricate pixel art and crunchy audio, building a striking, compact gauntlet across eight deadly stages. Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider revels in top-notch, refined platforming action for a tight, focused experience that never lets its blade get dull.
