Social Enterprise in Kirkby (UK) offering an Esports Cafe, Lounge and IT Academy
| The campaign to fund Viking Gaming –the social enterprise offering an E-Sports Cafe, Lounge and IT Academy in Kirby– is now available in Indiegogo. Viking Gaming will offer locals from Kirby, UK, a facility where they can meet friends, learn valuable IT skills, play the latest online games, watch E-Sports and engage in national and international competitions. “Since my son started playing games at an early age, we have loved gaming competitively”, says Paul Armstrong, private entrepreneur behind Viking Gaming. “We aim to change Kirby from a desolate area to a rich and active local community proud of itself”. The sole aim of Viking Gaming is benefitting the people of Kirkby and the surrounding area. While working closely with Knowsley Council, funding is needed to acquire the premises, fit out the cafe, purchase the gaming PCs and acquire the educational equipment required to start the IT Academy. |

| Esports Café Viking Gaming offers players of all levels the opportunity to compete in their favorite game, win prizes, and be part of the Viking community. The esports café will provide around 30 high end gaming computers where members can meet and socialise whilst playing the latest gaming titles such as FIFA 21, League of Legends and Overwatch, as they live stream their progress or play in remote locations. IT Academy Experienced tutors from academia and industry will run the lessons and upskill local children and young adults in subjects such as Robotics and Networking. Teaching the next generation of children to understand the world we live in and the technology we use, and gaining an understanding of how computers work and getting to grips with coding will help develop their logic and problem solving skills. The creativity required will also help them be more efficient learners from an early age. For Young adults, gaining skills and experience useful in the workplace will have a marked impact on employment opportunities and career choices. App Members will have access to the Viking Gaming App. Further instilling a sense of community by providing a platform to communicate with other members, track performance in competitions, access educational materials, book gaming sessions, etc. |
