Backwoods Entertainment, developers of the well-received “Unforeseen Incidents”, have signed a publishing deal for their new game “We Stay Behind” with Application Systems Heidelberg, publishing under their label ASHGAMES.
The game was developed and presented in early stages under its working title “Resort”. Going forward, the title will be changed to “We Stay Behind” to better reflect its intriguing story.
“We Stay Behind” is a surreal tale of mystery about emotions, introspection and coping. It is heavily inspired by Twin Peaks and David Lynch, mystery TV shows like Stranger Things and narrative games like Firewatch.
A brand new PC demo is available now for press exclusive access, launching for the public during Steam Next Fest from June 13.
About the game
A comet is on course to obliterate the small town of Laburnum Creek. Renowned writer Laura Tanner visits the former health resort to interview several inhabitants who are refusing to leave. But there’s something rotten at the heart of this picturesque town. Curious characters and surreal encounters await Laura in an enigmatic journey between dreams and reality. Will Laburnum Creek cast its spell over her too? Or will she jeopardize everything to uncover the truth?
