iPhone 5, iPod 5th Gen,7th Gen iPod Nano and iOS 6 launched by Apple

At a press conference in San Francisco, Apple has announced the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 5 is entirely made of glass and aluminum, its 7.6mm thick (18% thinner than before), weighs 112 grams and is 20% lighter than the 4S. The iPhone 5 features taller 4-inches 326ppi Retina display with 1136 x 640 resolution, an A6 processor (2X faster CPU and 2x graphics compared to the A5).

It packs a GPRS, EDGE, EV-DO, HSPA, HSPA+, DC-HSDPA and yes an LTE (HSPA+ is 21Mbps, DC-HSDPA is 42Mbps and LTE is a max of 100), a 8-megapixels camera with (3,264 x 2,448 resolution) backside-illuminated sensor, five-element lens and f/2.4 aperture (same as the iPhone 4S but thinner) with improved video stabilization covered with sapphire lens crystal cover, 720p backside illumination front-facing camera, three microphones (at the front, bottom, and back).

The battery will give you 8 hours of 3G or LTE talk time or browsing and 10 hours on Wi-Fi browsing.

The iPhone 5 will be available in white and black and will come in three storage configurations: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB at the same $199, $299, and $399 respectively with a new 2-year contract.

Pre-orders Have started today and first batch of Iphone 5 have been sold out within hours and will start shipping on September 21st in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore with 20 more countries following next month.

In addition to the iPhone 5, Apple also announced that the next big iOS update, the iOS 6 will be released on September 19.

The iOS 6 will be available as a free upgrade to owners of the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the New iPad.

Apple has also announced the 5th generation of its iPod Touch media player.

The 5th generation of iPod Touch has the same 4-inch display as the iPhone 5, its powered by a A5 processor, a 5-megapixel iSight Backside illuminated camera with f/2.4 aperture and 5-element lens and the same sapphire crystal lens cover (1080p video with image stabilization), 720p front-facing camera, its only 6.1mm thick, weights 88 grams and will be available in five colors: aluminum, black, blue, yellow and red.

The new iPod Touch also have improved battery life and will be capable of 40 hours of music and 8 hours of video playback.The new iPod Touch will be available for the holiday's season and will cost you $299 for the 32GB or $399 for the 64GB version.

There is a new iPod Nano too,  The latest iPod nano is the thinnest nano ever, measuring just 5.4mm thick; a full 38% thinner than the last nano. The iPod nano has a 2.5 inch multitouch display, but it only has firmware support (once again, no app add-ons, folks). The new iPod nano will come in seven colors: aluminum, black, purple, green, blue, yellow, and red.

Additionally, the new nano has an FM tuner with DVR-like pause and rewind functionality. The tiny device also packs in a pedometer and Bluetooth for accurate fitness measurements and wireless audio streaming. The 7th gen iPod nano will allow for up to 30 hours of music playback, and it has 16GB of solid state memory.

The 16GB 7th gen iPod nano will be available in October for $149.99.
