REVIEW : Corsair Vengeance MM200 Mouse Pad

Corsair MM200 mouse pad comes in multiple sizes and this is the more portable version but is a very comfortable size, especially for going to a LAN.

I should state that I generally dislike cloth mouse pads.  The edges fray, they attract dirt and dust, and it usually feels like your dragging your mouse through pudding.  For this reason, I generally stick to solid mousing surfaces, such as those made by Func Industries.  I was pleasantly surprised that the Corsair MM200 does not feel like a slab of three day old pudding.

The MM200 offers a good surface that allows the mouse to track extremely evenly.  I was amazed at how smooth the mouse tracking was with this surface.  I generally keep my Logitech G300 Gaming Mouse set to 1600DPI and 1000 reports/second and this mouse pad made that feel even smoother.  As I stated, the size is good for traveling and just about perfect for gaming at a LAN event.  In addition to the excellent tracking surface, the MM200 also offers a very comfortable “cushion” feeling below the hand.  This is something that I’ve generally overlooked before now and I can see that this added level of comfort may help anyone that is interested in a more ergonomic setup for their mouse.  Especially if you are like me and play games for several hours at a time.

The bottom of the MM200 is covered in a rubber grip that holds the table you set it on very well without slipping or moving at all.  This is definitely something that manufacturers of solid mouse surfaces should look at. Corsair gets huge points in their design and how they did the grip.
