Game Boy Color Infinity Kickstarter Ending

We just wanted to inform you that the Infinity Kickstarter campaign to complete the 20 year old unpublished tactical RPG for GameBoy Color is ending this Friday, September 17 at 7:58 am EDT.

Originally developed from 1999 to 2001 by Affinix Software, the end of the Game Boy Color’s retail lifespan and the market shifting towards the Game Boy Advance resulted in publishing struggles for the game. As a result, the original Affinix team went their separate ways, leaving Infinity a what-if that was formally canceled in 2002. Yet, 15 years later, following repeated interest in what was seen as one of the last Game Boy Color games, an unfinished version of Infinity was released as a free ROM in 2016.

Now, a successful Kickstarter campaign to complete the development of the game and release it as a physical cartridge for Game Boy Color is coming to an end, with over 2950 backers and $330,000 pledged as of writing. With this success, a number of stretch goals have been unlocked; notably, famed video game composer Yuzo Koshiro will be contributing an original piece to both the in-game music and arranged soundtrack. There is one final stretch goal to be unlocked at $350,000, which will bring an enhanced version of Infinity to the Nintendo Switch.
