Registration Still Open for GameJam+ Before First Stage Kicks Off
GameJam+, the yearly video game development marathon established to foster and mentor new independent studios, kicks off its first stage on Friday, October 8 — there’s still time to register! Aspiring indie devs and future superstar talent will square off over the next seven months across the globe, with approximately 100 cities hosting the competition, and there is still room for more entries.
To get people even more fired up for the event, the organizers have released a fantastic new video showcasing the staggering international reach of the event with commentary from participants hailing from around the world. This competition is truly global, highlighting the reach and impact of our industry across all nations and providing a valuable opportunity for budding developers to pursue their dreams.
The first stage of GameJam+, which will run from October 8 to 10, runs like a traditional game jam where participants present ideas, form teams, and develop a game prototype within 48 hours. At the end of the first stage, each team will create a pitch for their project and present it to a panel of judges who will then evaluate and pick the finalists for each region. Until October 8, the event will also feature more than 40 lectures from industry vets and professionals, providing invaluable insights and advice to budding developers.

- 4th Stage: Winners’ Decoration Event – Final
Last year’s edition of GameJam+ featured entries from all over the world, representing 60 cities, 1,100 participants, 800 volunteers, and more than 2,000 hours of lectures, workshops, and individual mentorship. This year features a brand new category, Diversity in Games, which aims to encourage more games made by women, BIPOC, and LGBTQI+ developers, as well as more games with women, BIPOC, and LGBTQI+ protagonists and narratives.
