REVIEW : Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered (PS4/ PS4 Pro)
I will be honest here; Assassin’s Creed Rogue is my favorite story in entire Assassin’s Creed franchise. I played the game when it launched on PC and tried to get 100% completion in it, it was just so good. I loved the story and Templar side of things. This remaster just brings the game to current standards and to a wider audience since the original release never came to PS4 or XBOX one.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue Remastered features the North Atlantic coast, New York City and Wilderness of New England. You will be sailing and battling ships just like Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, overall it is more of the same of Black Flag.
The place where Rogue shines is the story and the story is so good. You will be playing as an Assassin turned Templar. Shay, starts questioning his belief after a battle with Templars in the sea. Years later he joins Templars and tries to stop Assassin’s in their track. This also brings change of pace to the game as usually you are the one killing templars and not defending them. Rogue improves over AC3 is so many ways that it is good on land as well as Sea where Black Flag shined.
Rogue, features new weapons and toys to play with along with your Ship, the Morrigan getting a battering ram and rapid-fire cannon to start off.
The story is paced very well and will keep you hooked for hours. Though most of the missions are repeat or similar, they are well panned out to keep the game from being monotonous.
The HD textures and New lighting system add a fresh coat of paint to an already good-looking last generation game. The beautiful ice capes look sublime in 4K. Plus the naval battles look so good, the atmosphere is totally engrossing.
The map is divided into chunks with loading screen present when moving from one chunk to another. Though the game is filled with repeated missions they are enjoyable none the less.
