REVIEW : Hindsight 20/20 – Wrath of the Raakshasa (XBOX Series X)

This profoundly indulging action game gives a free pass in most a decision, and the main decision will vary from person to person. It will interrogate your belief, and it offers a different experience with great mechanics and a stunning narrative.

This game is the product of the collaboration of Industry veterans Hemanshu Chhabra (ex-Bioware) on directing/design, Paul Whitehead (ex-Sucker Punch) on the artwork, Kevin Cecelski (ex-Bioware) on animation, and Noel Gabriel (ex-Amaze Entertainment) on sound. The supergroup formed, Triple-I, introduced Hindsight 20/20:Wrath of the Raakshasa. You will encounter stylish visuals and complex difficulties, and you will be the hero, Jehan. There is a philosophical touch to the game, which makes it unique from most in the market. It presents a quirky approach to one’s decisions and actions.

REVIEW : Hindsight 20/20 – Wrath of the Raakshasa (XBOX Series X)

The story starts with the destruction in the city of Champaner, and you are Jehan, who is attached to his hometown, and you are torn apart watching your city getting destroyed. The city is under a plague-like situation, turning the citizens of Champaner into ravaged creatures. Jehan wants to save and protect the kingdom he cares about. The story delivery is astonishing and meaningful. The visuals in this adventurous game are bright. You won’t feel bored as something new is coming up every minute that will keep you energised.

The themes of the story are wonderful. It is about going with a particular situation and seeing the outcome. Apart from the city being affected by the deadly virus, political aspects are shown. There is corruption in the city, and there is a moral aspect also. Whether Jehan should murder the killer of his father or let him live is the compelling question that goes on throughout the game and is a choice. Here is where the choice in combat comes. You can choose to kill the killer of your father or show him mercy. The murderer is the city’s sheriff and happens to be an important personality of Champaner.

REVIEW : Hindsight 20/20 – Wrath of the Raakshasa (XBOX Series X)

You choose between choosing the way of revenge, conflict and violence or a path of mercy and values of his native land. The life of the city inhabitants depends on the choices made by Jehan. The red sword denotes the killing of the enemy, and the blue stun button is used to show mercy. It shows that the path of humanity comes with a lot of consequences and is not as easy as it is said to be.

The whole story is based upon Indian mythological characters and derives its essence from Indian Culture. The combat is fun and smooth, and the whole setting is engaging. Also, the story delivery is exceptionally amazing. There is a lot of exploring the city, doing various tasks like finding a key or solving puzzles. This game is designed for repetitive playthroughs, and it might take you five to six hours for your first one. But you can play it again and make different decisions to see the different consequences and circumstances the game offers. The yellow Shakti are the points and can be used for special attacks.
