A multi-player parkour game by Midgar Studio and Fusty Game, Hover: Revolt of Gamers (inspired by JSR) , set in a dystopian world , is as loud and bright as the set environment of the game.

Commencing as a fresh clone in an abandoned library , the player establishes a communication link with a couple of people set in the game teaching about the controls and thereby setting the player out and about in the Hover City. The city , designed  in a parkour suitable manner is full of hovels at the bottom and houses at the top. Meeting a number of gamers here , the player establishes himself learning gradually to be one of them who together will lead to fight against the tyrannical anti-leisure regime headed by the GREAT Administrator.

Presenting the player with a series of challenges that increase in difficulty as the levels up , the game , making one feel a little all over the place at first , lets the players gradually yet quickly get the hang of it to enjoy playing it for hours. The tutorial does not bore the players and the easy access to the explained controls makes the game interesting and more playable for a longer duration of time. Speaking of the same, it however does not guide the player for the complicated moves , setting an idea of discovery as the theme of the game too. DNAs of the other gamers can be unlocked too , but paves way for you to restart as a new character which results in replaying of the game.

Earning experience points for the tricks player performs , the game levels up thereby unlocking a slot in the character , which can be filled with a variety of argument chips that one may find or win. Stating the obvious , better chips can be earned after executing better performances in the tasks or through exploration at later stages in the game. These chips allows the player to make changes in the base stats the include strength , energy , jump , speed and other requirements to perform better.

Lit up everywhere with bright neon colors , the game has been designed with a tinge of cartoonish approach , giving it an aura of vintage games back in the era of 80s.

What lacks colors( in a metaphorical sense ) are the characters which are insipid and dull.  It’s almost ironical how the controls execute only a handful of parkour tricks with a limited character customisation despite the game being parkour inspired.

With a praiseworthy interface , the animation is quite good. The gamers keep “hover”ing around is what can be felt while attempting to play the game for there isn’t any map to guide the player throughout the game. Speaking of the sound , Hover: The revolt of gamers can be appreciated but not highly. The sounds are fine and the music is great. Some of it might keep the players upbeat  and active.

review-hover-revolt-gamers-pc-steamThe game can be played through both controllers and keyboard-mouse. It's a multiplayer game that can only be played online but is kind of interesting to be played again a couple of times. Crazy tricks and hardcore parkour is all that you need.
