REVIEW : WWE 2K 19 (XBOX One)

WWE 2K 19 is a good example on how yearly releases should be done. 2K has refined the old game and added a handful of extra stuff to play around with but as a complete package it is extremely fun.

Showcase mode is back and is better than ever with story focus on Daniel Bryan. The story follows from Daniel Bryan first match against John Cena to his title reigns. Every match still has those typical showcase conditions but they are more refined now and do not feel like a chore to do. Executing OMG moment, taking it back stage or grappling the opponent are all part of the match conditions. This recreates the moments from Daniel Bryan career with the player in control, it’s the best part about Showcase mode.

WWE 2K has always featured a comprehensive create a super star mode but this time it is less time consuming and more streamed line for those who just want to play the career and not indulge in creations so much.

Then there are the Block Bodies on which you can draw on and customize to play against real super stars. Its really funny seeing these fights play out and further creating these block stars is pretty easy. It’s fun add on.

This the My Player story is totally different compared to previous years and it is really fun to play through. Nice of 2K to finally change the age-old formula for this iteration. It is very well scripted and always keeps you wanting more.

Just like Mortal Kombat, there are now towers in WWE 2K 19, with each tower having its own difficulty setting and rewards. Another good addition this year.

Just like all other previous WWE games there are lot of bug mostly related to AI and physics but this time the game is much more refined and bugs are rare sight. The voice overs are good and the character likeness and animation are top notch.
