Aruma Studios, an independent game developer renowned for the point-and-click adventure, Intruder in Antiquonia, proudly announces the release of a playable demo for its eagerly awaited title, Shadows of the Afterland, now available for download on Steam. This demo will be accessible from March 1 through March 10, 2024, with the full game poised for release later in the year on PC (Windows, Linux, Mac) and Nintendo Switch.
Shadows of the Afterland is a supernatural adventure sprinkled with humor, taking players on a captivating journey through the worlds of the living and the great beyond. Set in 1960s Madrid, Shadows of the Afterland challenges players to unravel the mystery of a soul bearing the memories of Carolina, a woman who perplexingly has yet to be born. Embark on the first chapter of this unforgettable saga, stepping into the shoes of Carolina as you explore the enigmatic realms of the afterlife. Wield magic, shift between dimensions, and possess the living to solve puzzles woven into a compelling narrative.
Aruma Studios, founded by Silvia Izquierdo and Rubén López, is working on their second full-length adventure game. “We’re thrilled to finally offer players a glimpse into the mystical and eerie universe we’ve crafted in Shadows of the Afterland. This demo presents a taste of the challenges and story waiting for them,” shared Rubén López, the creative mind behind the story and puzzle design. “The team has poured their hearts into creating a vibrant, detailed world, designed with exquisite pixel art, stunning animations, and a soundtrack that perfectly complements the game’s atmosphere,” added Silvia Izquierdo, who oversees production.
