PFB the Post-budget reaction shared byMr. Piyush Sharma, CEO, GORB

“The budget looks good and is motivating for start-up and Digital India, however one needs study deeply to analyse better. Our initial response to the budget is positive. Finance minister Arun Jaitley has put forth a proposal which will benefit the common man. We welcome the move to reduce profit linked-deductions for start-ups to 3 years out of 7 years as well as the proposal to reduce corporate tax to 25 % for small companies with turnover of less than Rs. 50 crores. Additionally, the mission to achieve a target of over 2,500 crore digital transactions for 2017-18 through UPI, USSD, Aadhar Pay, IMPS and debit cards will benefit the sector to a large extent. The announcement to launch high-speed broadband on optical fibre in over 1.5 lakh gram panchayats and the Digi Gaon initiative that shall provide telemedicine, education and skills through digital technology is a welcome move to increase internet penetration and adoption. Furthermore, initiatives such as Aadhar Pay, schemes to promote BHIM App, a payment regulatory board in RBI and removal of all duties on point of sale devices, finger print readers and similar devices will help promote cashless transactions. We look forward to implementation of GST in the near future and its acceptance by various stakeholders. Overall, the budget is a progressive step in the right direction with an intention to promote entrepreneurship, encouraging start-ups and Digitalization in India in the long run.“
