REVIEW : Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® II - Vault Edition (XBOX Series X)

We were able to plan our schedules based on Call of Duty up until this point because it arrived regularly and moved every year. To other conflicts, other eras. Before now. The current Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 game will be the last in a series that has continued nonstop since 2005. Because the major COD game isn’t coming next year, Modern Warfare 2 will have to satisfy fans of the series.

Will it be beneficial? Will it not become the new Vanguard? We’ll find out.

REVIEW : Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® II – Vault Edition (XBOX Series X)

Infinity Ward, which creates the best Call of Duty games and has the skills to create robust multiplayer that will keep players entertained for the next two years, is the studio behind the Modern Warfare subseries. They even contain content in their single-player campaigns. With their Modern Warfare tale, they, at last, launched the Call of Duty franchise. They then produced the renowned trilogy, which they continued in 2019 under the same name. Since the tale is distinct and it begins before the first campaign, no one will ever comprehend the same name, although they might easily tweak it a little. Anyhow, they got off to a good start and are now attempting to keep going.

With current weapons and, of course, a storyline that continues the tale of Task Force 141 with John Price, Ghost, and Soap, Modern Warfare 2 will reacquaint gamers with modern warfare. The cooperative addition will be present. In addition to all of this, there will be additional information, including the addition of a distinct Call of Duty Warzone 2 and a DMZ mode in the Tarkov style.

REVIEW : Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® II – Vault Edition (XBOX Series X)

Campaign

We can look at the campaign individually now because it was made available before the release. It continues the narrative of Task Force 141, a unit that was founded in Modern Warfare 2019 and has been given a new assignment. We must prevent the terrorists from using the American missiles they have acquired. They must prevent the criminals’ schemes and set out on a journey that is full of twists and turns.

You will travel through the Middle East, as well as the streets of Amsterdam and Mexico. In Mexico, you will meet up with Alejandro Vargas, a well-known character from the Mexican special forces, and the two of you will travel through local streets, forest locations, as well as great sniper missions, drilling towers on the sea, military bases, and skyscrapers in the city.

All of this will provide extremely high-quality first-person shooter gameplay, something the Call of Duty series excels at. Everything will be diverse.

Regarding the missions’ quality, though, it’s comparable to a swing; there are excellent missions and others that are clumsily performed and appear to have been created by amateurs. While the traditional shooting missions are generally seamless, some of them have interesting surroundings and exciting action, while others are less compelling, the shooting itself makes up for it. This time, the unique sniper mission is excellent. The employment of novel elements, which didn’t always work, is the issue. mixing them with pre-written objectives and a single course of action.

Interestingly, they integrated interactive dialogue responses even during games. You can voice your opinion on certain issues, not that it will alter anything. The only time you have the option to pick your course of action in the story is during a Hitman-style operation. Other than that, anticipate a simple game with just one way to win.

Cooperation

This time, the game brings back the earlier Spec Ops mode and collaboration, albeit in a different way. The cooperative missions themselves contain cutscenes, and commentary, and are narrative. They take you to new places and essentially wrap up the narrative. A co-op is a two-player game that cannot be played by one person. At the very least, it is no longer possible to join the singles co-op right away like it formerly could. You must navigate the lobby and wait for the following player.

Three missions have been completed so far, all of which had different objectives. One is a nighttime map that requires you to jump out of an aeroplane and go secure radioactive items, another requires you to gradually destroy missiles over a larger area, and the final one is primarily defensive and requires you to hold your position while purchasing weapons and disabling a series of charges.

No assignment is simple, but with the right partner (to keep you alive), you can complete them all in approximately an hour. The game has excellent processing and quality. The release currently only includes three situations, which is a shame. It is insufficient. We’ll watch to see if and how more comes.

Call of Duty’s Ground War features two game modes, including the usual 32×32 occupying control locations with tanks, ships, helicopters, and now underwater fighting, for gamers who were unimpressed by the last Battlefield. A slightly more condensed but equally intense 20×20 Invasion mode that has only two-team combat but also includes AI and has limitations on maps and vehicles completes the package.

The third-person view, which is now segregated into its playlists and offers something new, is an intriguing novelty in the game. It appears that they included it to make it simpler for new Fortnite gamers to get started.

In addition to all of this, the Gunsmith is back, which means that your armoury can modify weapons and is now deeper but also locked in various ways and unlocked gradually. To unlock what you need, you must grind and use a variety of other weapons. Here, you can’t just concentrate on one weapon as you wait for its menu to fill with options. Playing a more general game carelessly takes a lot of energy.

Visual and technical processing regarding the visual aspect looks good. Infinity Ward is skilled at creating stunning vistas and intriguing places while also giving them top-notch textures and processing. There will be a metropolis full of people as well as numerous, intricate environments where you may enjoy both day and night attacks. This time, they used more destruction, and many maps would have building fragments fall.

There are so many new and old components in the engine itself. It is still obvious that it is not as technologically advanced as, for instance, the Battlefield engine, even though they are progressively making improvements.

The numerous, high-quality cutscenes, where Activision has invested in performers and quality, should also be mentioned. They add to the ambience and are nicely spoken and performed.

REVIEW : Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® II – Vault Edition (XBOX Series X)

All things considered, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is a respectable sequel to the original, especially coming after the dud Black Ops and Vanguard games. Particularly in multiplayer, which features decent and now even improved gameplay, smaller maps for close-quarters combat as well as larger levels for enormous Ground War conflicts, all with additional movement choices. Although the campaign is not for everyone, you can tell that the creators tried several things, particularly a harder tone. The partnership, which has a solid base but has only produced three maps thus far, completes the total.
