Every choice Mai makes may be her last… With just a couple of weeks left until the launch of Death end re;Quest 2™, we’re excited to provide you with another Iffy-cial website update for the horror-inspired RPG, Death end re;Quest 2!
Death end re;Quest 2 will launch on Steam on August 18. The physical and digital release for the PlayStation®4 in North America and Europe will launch on August 25 and August 28, respectively.
In our previous Gameplay screenshot update which included the Day and Night system, it was stated that a majority of the game’s story events occur during the Day. However, the story is actually divided between events during the Day and the events players will see at Night. We apologize for the miscommunication.
Within the game, players will have to make choices that could affect the lives of those living at Wordsworth, which even includes Mai, Rottie, and Liliana. But players will also be rewarded via the Episode Chart when viewing each event within the game. Will you keep the characters alive, or reap the benefits of their Death Ends? The choice is yours.
System: Your Choices
The Steam version will contain the original Glitch costumes for the first game’s characters and will have English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese subtitles. The first game’s characters only appear in their Glitch costumes during battle and in the main menu. The Steam version will implement the original Glitch costumes in both instances.

Kedouin, and the character designer of the original Death end re;Quest™, Kei Nanameda, Death end re;Quest 2 is a sequel that asks the question: What happens when reality is consumed by darkness?

Check the episode chart to claim items granted for following different episode paths. Please note that the Episode Chart is used as a point of reference. Players cannot jump back to previous scenes; therefore, it is recommended to save often. |

| Dying in battle isn’t the only way to Game Over in Death end re;Quest 2. Making the wrong choice when interacting with Le Choara and its bizarre inhabitants can result in a grisly demise. Quick save before making decisions to give yourself the chance to explore all possible paths. After each Game Over, players can return to the moment just prior to selecting. Each previously-made selection is checked off, keeping track of all explored paths. |

| Story Mai Toyama seeks an escape from her traumatic past. She becomes enrolled at Wordsworth, an all-girl’s dormitory situated in the small, mountainous town known as Le Choara where it was rumored that her sister, Sanae, was last seen. Hopeful, Mai seeks to find her kin, but she soon finds terrifying inhabitants which lurk throughout the town after dark. At night, Le Choara’s streets are filled with Shadow Matter—a horrific group of menacing creatures. Around every cobblestone corner, Mai discovers that her hope of finding her sister lies beneath the long-buried secrets which haunt Le Choara. Key Features Overkill Brings Huge Rewards – The Overkill system is an added feature where characters can stack damage beyond the health of an enemy for bonus experience! Try to inflict as much damage to all the monsters for bigger rewards. Beware of the Berserker – During dungeon exploration and battle, a faceless, black figure will appear out of nowhere. The figure will also display an area of attack once it appears. Mai and her squad must step away from the Berserker’s area of attack, as it will instantly kill anyone with one single blow. Run away from the Berserker in the dungeon or defeat all the existing monsters in the battlefield to escape! Day n’ Night – Mai will need to explore the town of Le Choara during the day and speak with the townspeople to find out clues as to where her sister is. By night, Mai will fight her way through dark creatures stylized in a turn-based RPG. Experience the story through the lens of a visual novel during the day and battle it out against horrific creatures by night! Don’t Call it a Knockback – The Knockback system allows Mai and her squad to smack Shadow Matter against walls, other enemies, and even to other party members for vicious combos. And if you time your attacks just right, you might even be able to trigger Super Knockbacks and Super Knockblows. |
