On the heels of Giving Tuesday and in the spirit of the holidays, the organizations will produce a Seasons of Giving Stream-A-Thon benefitting Children’s Health on Friday, December 3. The Stream-A-Thon will feature popular content creators, celebrities and esports participating in a series of challenges and day-long streams to raise funds to be donated to the Children’s Health Medical Center Foundation.

“Gaming and the creative use of technology are an important aspect of caring for patients. They provide distraction, pain management and opportunities for self-expression, allowing kids to be kids,” said Brent Christopher, president of Children’s Medical Center Foundation. “Children’s Health is grateful to Envy Gaming as its support through the Stream-A-Thon will enhance the technology and gaming options offered to our patients, which not only entertains them but promotes coping and healing during their hospital stays.”

The Child Life team at Children’s Health uses gaming in a variety of ways to engage patients, their families, and siblings. The Stream-A-Thon is the first of several activations that Children’s Health and Envy intend to partner on in the coming months and years. Future activations may include visits by Envy’s professional esports players and famous content creators to Children’s Health locations, special behind-the-scenes tours of Envy’s headquarters and training center, and activations at live or virtual events. Online esports tournaments organized by Envy for Texas area high schools and middle schools will also feature Children’s Health as a partner.

“Producing the Stream-A-Thon to commemorate our support for Children’s Health is a rewarding way for us to deliver on Envy’s promise to bring joy to children that need it most through gaming,” said Shay Butler, vice president of sales and marketing at Envy. “We were attracted to the amazing work Children’s Health does in our community and anything we can do to shine a light on that and create camaraderie through gaming is a perfect match for us.”

The Seasons of Giving Stream-A-Thon and partnership between Children’s Health and Envy was brokered by Dallas-based Connect Partnership Group.

“The partnership is one of the largest of its kind in the U.S. between a pediatric health provider and esports organization, bringing the worlds of competitive video games and esports into a partnership category typically associated with professional sports teams,” said Lewis Gray, Senior Director at Connect Partnership Group.
