ENVY GNF Will Compete Next on August 6 Event Televised on ESPN

Dallas-based esports and entertainment organization Envy Gaming is getting into the fast-paced World Chase Tag® USA (WCT) circuit with a new sponsorship of GNF, one of the top chase teams in North America. World Chase Tag® is the first and only global league making the world’s most played game of Tag a competitive sport and fan favorite of millions of viewers.

Airing August 6, 2021 at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2 is a two-hour primetime special of WCT USA’21, which will feature fast-paced, high energy parkour-based tag competition between competing teams. Each match pits two teams consisting of six players against one another, with matches played in a best-of-16 round format. As individual rounds last only 20 seconds, WCT delivers an adrenaline-packed, edge-of-your-seat experience for viewers to see who the last team will be left standing after a full match series. WCT USA’21 is hosted at Goodyear Hall in Akron, Ohio, a partner property of Hall of Fame Village. Emmy Award-winning Tupelo Honey, a Gray Television owned company, is producing the event coverage.

“What we love about World Chase Tag is the high-speed gameplay and universal accessibility – just like anyone can pick up a controller to play video games, anyone can set out to be the best WCT player,” said Envy Gaming CEO Adam Rymer. “The atmosphere of sportsmanship and competition that WCT cultivates is a great fit for our Envy brand and we’re excited to expand our team sponsorship portfolio into new and emerging areas of entertainment that our fans can get excited about. We can’t wait to see ENVY GNF compete to bring home a trophy.”
