Jelle’s Marble Runs are the go to place for marble run videos, Jelle first posted on YouTube in 2006 a video of thousands of marbles in one of his ‘marble machines’, in 2009 he was awarded the Guinness World Record for the world’s longest marble run a record that stood until 2011. By 2016 Jelle had created the MarbleLympics (later becoming the Marble League), a series of beautifully crafted events featuring 16 teams winning medals and points, the YouTube channel took off with fans around the world loving the passion and creativity, Jelle’s Marble Runs had arrived.
In 2020 at the height of the pandemic Jelle’s team was looking for a sponsor, John Oliver (comedian and host of HBO’s Last Week Tonight show) was already a fan and stepped up sponsoring the whole season of events and giving it pride of place on his show. Also in 2020 Jelle launched Marbula One a series of circuit-based marble races taking place in different venues with all the action of real world formula 1 and, like Marble League, featuring live commentary, crowd chants and superb camera work.
By June 2020 Jelle’s Marble Runs YouTube channel had over 1m subscribers and received the coveted Golden Play plaque and in January 2021 100,000 Bilibili subscribers in China.
