Log9 Partners with SpareIt to Launch Battery Replacement and Retrofitment Model Pan-India
The battery is always the heart of any electric vehicle; given that EV range, charging time, and other critical characteristics are all closely tied to the battery’s health. Due to factors experienced such as constant kilometre runs, high ambient temperature due to India’s tropical climate conditions, and fewer charge-discharge cycles, battery degradation for EVs in the last-mile logistics segment in India often peaks and leads to prolonged downtimes and a lot of dead inventory.
To solve the above-mentioned concerns in India’s EV ecosystem, and to address the need of retrofitting existing EVs with Log9’s superlative RapidX batteries and thereby giving a second lease of life to such dead EV inventory, Bengaluru-headquartered advanced EV battery technology startup Log9 Materials has now announced the launch of a one-of-its-kind battery replacement and retrofitment model in partnership with SpareIt –India’s largest garage network platform. As a part of this long-term collaboration, SpareIt will offer its pan-India extensive garage network for vehicle integration with Log9’s InstaCharging battery packs. This battery replacement and retrofitment service will be rolled out across various cities/towns wherever SpareIt support is available and will be made available, to both individual owners and fleet aggregator companies.
Any EV 2W or 3W owner having a vehicle with issues due to the battery can reach out to SpareIt or Log 9’s teams and easily get access to Log 9’s next-age battery replaced in their vehicles through SpareIt. On the other hand, since fleets have a larger EV deployment, Log9 and SpareIt simultaneously expects larger volumes from fleet aggregator companies to turn up for retrofitment, and will together continue to support electrification via retrofitment of fleets as well through their newly-formed partnership.

The prime reason why most of the currently available EV batteries today stop working or show poor performance within a short span of usage is that these batteries degrade very fast, as most of them are made from inferior Li-ion cell chemistries which might be lower in upfront cost, but suffer from poor performance and fail in the long run. Thus, the need arrived for SpareIt and Log9 to partner with each other to provide retrofit batteries. Log9’sInstaChargebatteries are built with advance materials which are costlier as compared to the lower performance-based, cheaper EV batteries in terms of the upfront cost. However, since Log9 batteries have 9x better life than a conventional EV battery, the total cost of ownership (TCO) over a longer use case offsets the higher battery cost and makes it a viable battery to invest even in terms of retrofit applications.
