Mixed reality game Laser Dance demo playable at GDC 2024

Are you heading to GDC? If so, I’d love to point your attention to the Meta booth in the main exhibition.

Thomas Van Bouwel (creator of the critically acclaimed VR game Cubism) and Creature (THRASHER, The Light Brigade, Budget Cuts) invite you to get hands-on with the mixed reality title Laser Dance in the conference hall. You must use your wits and flexibility to overcome the obstacle course. You can find it at the Meta demo booth from March 18 to March 22

Further demo details:

Laser Dance takes full advantage of the Quest 3 features, and you’ll experience the following:

  • Inside Out Body Tracking: arms and torso tracking to make avoiding the lasers even more challenging.
  • Dynamic Occlusion: lasers will be obscured behind physical objects in your play space, including chairs, tables, other people, etc. Supporting the Inside Out Body Tracking, you’ll feel like you’re playing with your entire body, not just your head and hands.

Thomas Van Bouwel will also be at GDC and will be happy to meet with you. If you’d like to schedule a time to meet Thomas at the Meta booth or want to set a time to chat in more detail about Laser Dance for coverage/interviews, feel free to email him directly at [email protected]

About Laser Dance

Laser Dance is a mixed-reality game that turns your living room into a laser obstacle course. Players move between two buttons on opposite ends of their living room, traversing a sequence of laser patterns which adapt to the room’s size and layout. Easy to learn but hard to master, Laser Dance’s deceptively simple game makes for a perfect party game to get newcomers and seasoned VR players moving in mixed reality!
