Week 2 of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Malaysia (MPL MY) came to a close over the weekend, with Selangor Red Giants extending their lead over Team HAQ (2nd) and Team SMG (3rd). Selangor Red Giants sit on 10 points after four games, two points clear of the pack. All three teams remain “invincible”, having not lost a match yet.
In a shocking turn, Team Secret’s valiant efforts against the Selangor Red Giants earned them their first points in Season 12. But more significantly, it also ended a 22-game losing streak—setting the MPL MY all-time record. Team Lunatix remains the only team without a win, after four straight losses this season.
And they aren’t the only ones struggling. Season 11 champions TODAK also had a difficult weekend, losing 1-2 to Red Esports. After losing their first game, the reigning champions—in true TODAK fashion—managed to win the second match, but ultimately lost to Red Esports in the third round.

MPL MY Superstars Walk The Runway At Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week
MPL MY players were not just serving in the Land of Dawn, but on the runway as well. TODAK’s Moon, HomeBois’ Vins, and Selangor Red Giants’ Super Gojes were among the league’s superstars voguing newest MPL MY x SUPERSUNDAYSTORE collection at the Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) on Sunday, 27 August. This marked the first time an esports league participated in the annual fashion event.
The Competition Heats Up In Week 3
Season 12 of the MPL MY Regular Season will resume with Week 3 running from Friday until Sunday (1 to 3 September). The upcoming week will be especially significant for the top three teams—can TODAK attain revenge against Selangor Red Giants in Week 3, Day 2?
At the other end of the table, Team Secret and Team Lunatix will face off, knowing that this presents their best opportunity to notch their first win of the season. Expect an intense showdown, as both teams will not want to continue propping up the rest of the table.
