Experience “Sand-to-Sand Combat” on Planet Scrapyard in the Spherical 360° Roguelite Shooter Orbital Bullet

Things are starting to heat up on the sphere! Accomplished indie publisher Assemble Entertainment and developer SmokeStab are fired up to reveal some major updates for their novel 360° shooter, Orbital Bullet. The first exciting piece of news is this – Orbital Bullet will exit its Early Access phase, debuting its full Steam launch on March 21st, 2022. Having been in Early Access for almost half a year, the action-packed neon-soaked roguelike has garnered an impressive “Very Positive” Steam rating, as well as several awards, including “Best Concept with Prototype” at GermanDevDays 2019, as well as placing second in the category “Prototype Young Talent Award” at the German Video Game Awards

That’s not all the news we have to share, though. In preparation for its launch, Smokestab has released a new content-packed update. Titled “Upcycle”, this DLC showcases Planet Scrapyard, a fresh n’ fun desert biome. But don’t be fooled, this expansion is anything but barren. Along with a new environment to traverse through, this latest content drop includes dazzling hand-painted pixel art cutscenes for each boss, additional skill tree branches, and a new Decorating System. Included in the update are three new electrophonic soundtracks from Niilo Takalainen, known for their work on award-winning dungeon crawler Noita.

Key Features of the “Upcycle” Update:

  • A Whole New World: Scrapyard, as its name suggests, is a desert biome filled with discarded cyborgs, robots, and you guessed it…scrap. Exploited by the Dread Corporation’s greed, the planet is now a scorched wasteland where unbridled peril awaits.

  • New Enemies on the Horizon: Blast and burn your way through a barrage of new enemy encounters, including the Desert Crawler, the Dread Corp Flamethrower Unit, Spike Tires, and more

  • Setting the Stage: Five unique, hand-painted cutscenes have been added on the first kill of each boss, giving more story context

  • A Growing Skill Tree: Recent branches have sprouted, including Shop Rerolls, Extended Merchant Supply, and Lucky One

Delivering fluid, fast-paced gameplay and procedurally generated enemies and levels, now more than ever is the perfect time to check out this critically acclaimed 360° experience. Bring out the big guns and show the Dread Corporation that you won’t just fall in line – you’ll go out guns blazing.

Sticking to the company’s philanthropic roots, Assemble is also offering a special ‘Save The World Edition’ on Steam for $22.99 USD. The edition includes the hair-raising official soundtrack, with 10% of the revenue being donated to the non-profit organization Ocean Cleanup which develops advanced technologies to rid the oceans of plastic and waste.

Orbital Bullet is currently in Early Access, available on PC via Steam for $12.99 USD.
