The latest game from Strange Scaffold (An Airport for Aliens Currently Run by Dogs, Space Warlord Organ Trading Simulator, El Paso, Elsewhere), Sunshine Shuffle tells an engaging story about loss, family, and armed robbery that unfolds between high-stakes hands of Texas Hold ‘Em. As players bluff, call, and raise their way to the top, they’ll engage opponents in guarded banter that unfolds into respect and friendship. It’s a neo-noir tale told with equal parts intrigue and empathy.
In addition to playing cards and learning about crimes, players can earn decoration options to make the S.S. Sunshine their own. Spruce up the place with new cosmetics and props, or go wild and dress everyone up in unlockable outfits. Just remember: the kitten at the table is a card shark.
