The Light Brigade – the VR roguelike shooter where you battle the darkness with a mix of physics base gunplay and light powered magic – is receiving a massive update today. Coming to all versions of the game across Steam VR, Quest 2 and PSVR 2, the update will bring The Engineer, a new player class that deploys pilotable drones; The Shotgunner, another new class that has been highly demanded; a dozen new items that can be found on runs and in the shop (flare gun, cigarettes/cigars for style, equipable helmets that block damage, new health flasks, power-up syringes, and more); new hand-crafted levels between stages; a new shooting range mini-game; and game balancing and fixes.

About the Game

Enlist in the ranks of The Light Brigade, humanity’s last line of defence, and journey through procedurally-generated battlegrounds as many times as it takes to free the souls of the fallen trapped within. Only you can usher in the dawn.

Features

  • Physics-based gunplay: Realistic gunplay inspired by historical World War weaponry creates intense battles against increasingly difficult enemies. Start your run with a standard-issue rifle and loot for powerful attachments.
  • Powerful light magic abilities: Use magic to infuse your rifle’s bullets with light magic, rain fireballs on enemy hordes, and more. Collect an array of magical tarot cards during your runs, each with unique powers that will transform gameplay.
  • Deep roguelike mechanics: If you fall to enemy fire, survive long enough to retrieve your fallen soul or lose your run progress to permadeath. Infinitely procedurally-generated battlegrounds make each run completely unique, forcing you to traverse carefully through ever-changing hostile environments.
  • Upgrade equipment and unlock new classes: Cleanse the souls of the fallen to climb the ranks of The Light Brigade and spend rank points to enhance your weapon, passive abilities, and spells. Unlock new player classes and gain access to new weapons, loadouts, and play styles.
  • Uncover the mystery: What led to the world’s downfall? What do the Obsidian Forces want? Uncover these mysteries and bring the world back from the brink of total darkness before it’s too late.
