Thoughts

Wow, so early in the game, yet this game is just addictive. If you enjoy games like Banished, this is the game for you.

[PROS]

– True Sandbox Experience – Incredible amount of promise

– Active community and developer team

– Communicative development team

– Many hours of challenging or casual gameplay, both feeling rewarding

– Excellent Art

– Interesting quests and spontaneous events that make it much more engaging and immersive

– TONS (And I mean TONS) to do. I’ve yet to have any genuine downtime.

[CONS] (Please note, this may not be relevant at the time of reading, please check post date) (Please note, this may not be relevant at the time of reading, please check post date).

– Definitely early access, a lot of content coming but not quite yet

– Can become overwhelming when you reach a certain citizen limit, even on lower difficulty maps

– Natural disasters are currently pretty horrendous, though they don’t happen often, you can expect one at least once a year with no way to combat it other than sitting through it

– Stone should be much more accessible and require less migratory effort to move your population toward a stone quarry –

– A lack of quality of life mechanics, such as the ability to fill roles automatically (refer to when I say it can get overwhelming)

– A lack of life outside of the community, Cutscenes were added to Bannerlord to depict specific events. I believe it would be beneficial to include some for trade and raiding to make it appear as if it actually occurred rather than simply having a message stating that it did.

– There is no detailed instruction.

[WORTH MENTIONING]

– The soundtrack is amazing, but it becomes repetitive. It would be fantastic to be able to hear a greater range of music, perhaps three different songs on a loop throughout the year.

– The ability to further personalise the dwellings and create custom buildings (similar to Planet Zoo) will elevate this game to a whole new level.

– USEFUL PETS, so many games add useless pets, and while they do contribute to the world’s life, they miss out on all the possibilities in expanding their gameplay. Allow us to have dogs that we can use to augment our warriors’ damage, herders’ produce, or hunters’ efficiency. That would be fantastic.

– Changing the terrain would make this game worth twice as much as it is now… I will only accept this as reality rather than opinion.

– Including more religious content and populous interaction would make the game feel more alive. Allow us to host meetings, and ceremonies for new borns, and allow me to log on and feel like a viking, not just a puppeteer, but in the city, with the people.

– A general lack of customization

– Gridless… but not entirely. The situation has made me feel quite constrained. Referring back to the concept of terrain modification, perhaps developing some form of random map generation would be a useful addition, ensuring that all of them are somewhat moldable.

– There are no funeral places or rites yet; your followers simply poof away.

[CONCLUSION]

Is it a good investment? Yes.

Do I understand that this game is under early access and that much of what I stated may be added anyway? Yes.

Am I about to start playing this game right now? Yes.

I hope you found what you were looking for.
