PREVIEW : Rhythm Sprout (PC)

This rhythm-based game, created by SURT and released by tinyBuild, is obscenely compelling. Additionally, it includes a silly plot, a few heroes who are inspired by food, and a tonne of difficult action. It requires precision, memory recall, and a tremendous amount of patience, just like its peers. But this results in fun gameplay, lots of replayability, and nonstop belly laughter.

Rhythm Sprout has a ridiculous story of deception.

You are the “Chosen Onion,” Sprout. As a result, you are under a lot of pressure and expectation. Are onions supposed to have shoulders? People still expect a lot from you, regardless of your response. As a result, you spend your time assisting the inhabitants and exploring the vibrant kingdom. You are also asked to assist the King with a variety of responsibilities. You are being misled, though, and your entire world is being turned upside down, which you are unaware of. This vegetable hero, however, is unfazed by this, and by moving to the beat of the music, he will finish every assignment and be recognised as a hero.

Therefore, the plot is entirely sane and bears no resemblance to being weird in any manner. In case you didn’t catch the irony, Rhythm Sprout is crazy! But I enjoyed the madness of it all, which was only surpassed by the chaotic action. You will be put to the test in ways you never imagined possible by the rhythmical mechanics. Making matters worse, each level should not be difficult at all as you just need to learn a small number of inputs. In actuality, the quick tempo will exert pressure on you the entire time. You’ll also need the agility of a superman and the quickness of a snake racing. Other than this, playing it is simple. Again, sarcasm in case you didn’t get it

5 levels to give you a taste.

The main features of the full game are brilliantly highlighted in this demo. What to anticipate from the finished product is highlighted by the well-rounded gameplay and dynamic dynamics. Even though the plot wasn’t linear and only a small portion of it made sense, it didn’t matter. I liked what I saw, and I adored the eccentric personalities. Additionally, the bits of knowledge helped you see the future.

Every level moves forward similarly. You must match your button-mashing with a yellow, pink, or blue indicator by following a predetermined course. Every push is assessed, and your score reflects that.

Additionally, chaining numerous flawless presses together can increase your score. Additionally, you have the option of using a unique onion power to boost your score or restore your health. As if it weren’t challenging enough, each stage is strewn with QTEs that change things up while raising the difficulty.

A grading system for each level and additional modes to “remix” each stage has also been introduced by the developers as if this weren’t enough. You’ll experience a new method as a result of modifying the fundamental mechanics, which motivates you to work more. This was great since it will keep you playing and keep you from getting bored.

Rhythm Sprout is hand-drawn and great to look at.

My secret aesthetic love is hand-drawn art. I, therefore, admire any game that truly masters the arts. Thankfully, Rhythm Sprout accomplishes this with its funk-infused characters and unique set design. In addition, the colour scheme is bright and fits the crazy plot. What was most impressive, though, was how well it functioned. You need it to be accurate and rhythmic at all times in a game that depends on it. It never faltered, which is a blessing, and I’m excited about its complete release.

The original soundtrack was also great. You’ll be tapping your feet to the funky music as you’re drawn into the world of vegetables.

Like the graphics, I’m not afraid to say that I became infatuated with each song, and I can’t wait to see how the remainder of the action plays out.

Excellent controls and gamepad support.

I adore how inclusive the developer is. With simple controls and complete gamepad support, they’ve catered for both the console and PC community. This was a wise choice that will make everyone content. Furthermore, whichever option you chose, it was simple to learn how to use and be responsive.

Longevity and replayability are top considerations for the developer. However, I am unable to predict the length of the game or the depths it will delve into. But in this sample, you get to try out the fantastic extra modes that give you a preview of what’s to come.

Rhythm Sprout is a brilliant must-play game.

The significance of the Steam Next Fest event is shown by this demo. Players might have missed out on this fantastic must-play game without it. I beg you to use the demo while it is free! Additionally, why not add it to your wishlist while you are there? Are you able to preserve the kingdom? Overcome the rude lies, assist the locals, and feel the beat.

Summary.

Rhythm Sprout is a fun but tough rhythmical title that’ll push you to your limits. This short demo gives you an insight into what to expect upon full release. I can’t wait to take on the final product even if I risk losing my cool and my sanity.
