Strategic JRPG-like Battle Gameplay

A core component of any JRPG style play is a turn-based battle. Time Break Chronicles stars strategic turn-based fights against a diversity of foes, each requiring different approaches, skills, and maybe an item or two to bail you out. Take care; these opponents are no pushovers. Even the ordinary enemies will test your reasoning and require a powerful team to win!

Explore, Adapt, Overcome

Your adventure will not only consist of fights. You will also have to quarrel with a variety of traps, barriers, puzzles, and other encounters as you explore the procedurally generated map. Customize your characters, their abilities, and pick the correct details to help you overcome barriers.

Customize Your Heroes

Customize your heroes’ skills with a wide category of equippable weapons, that can do anything from modifying attributes to granting new skills. Craft additional relics to round out your strategy.

Build a Town

Even heroes need someplace to rest after a difficult mission. Build up a town over time with multiple buildings and varied upgrades to support your favourite strategies.

What I Liked About the Game

To start, I’m a big fan of FF Tactics and Etrian Odyssey. Came for the 100+ classes (by the end of EA), and the old school pixeled jrpg meet new school rogue-lite run concept.

So far so good Banter has been accurate, gfx is spot-on, music is fine, and menu controls feel crisp.

this is early access and patches can do wonders. Also, TBC has high up-side. Players gain power gradually from acquiring a plethora of characters (22 at launch, 100+ at full release), relics, assorted skills, and a rogue-lite town with upgradable buildings for even more customization.

Heartily recommended, mostly to see the new scenarios and what the other 80+ characters will bring to the table in future.

After gaining resources in a couple of failed runs, I upgraded my party’s skills. Felt great when I started to succeed in boss runs, bringing back valuable loot slowly, but surely.

What I Didn’t Like About the Game

Advanced game knowledge is acquired through trial and error while navigating through the various user screens, and patience is required as combat feedback is limited. (Enemy exact HP is generally hidden unless you have specific items or class)
