REVIEW : Dandy Ace (PS5)

Dandy Ace is a stunning game in the world of action by the Mad Mimic. It stands out in almost all technical and mechanical ways and is a masterpiece when it comes to its extremely gorgeous visuals and graphics. It was launched a month after the release of Hades but it does not duplicate or copy it at all .

REVIEW : Dandy Ace (PS5)

The story is different from your regular action gameplay stories and has concepts and controls of its own. You are a magician in an exotic world. You have been cursed and you have ended up in a mirror under the spell of the green eyed illusionist. In order to get out of this trap that you are in , you will use your magic tricks and fight the demons. You will also loot and will have to defeat your ultimate nemesis , Green eyed illusionist.

REVIEW : Dandy Ace (PS5)

You are in a dungeon-like place with monsters all around you and you are not going to run away but fight back by using the magic tricks against the mighty creatures . Every card is assigned with a different attack and movement . The animations are wonderful and the whole game will give you a chic vibe . The game is all about slickness of the animation and the pyrotechnics in the combat, which produces a great work of creating a sense of production value.

REVIEW : Dandy Ace (PS5)

You will start with some basic attack and movements and will upgrade as the game will follow. You can doge , punch , and throw cards to use as a shotgun . You initially have just four buttons to assign cards but things will get a lot flavourful as you upgrade to the 5th trick. Along with the main ability each card has some sub-ability which you can use to modify cards. This means that the card that usually throws out five cards can be added onto another attack to make it spit five cards out on impact. You can even turn your one-hit poison  into twenty doses of poison by mixing it with a card that explodes into bubbles. You can swap these around with ease, which means you can constantly experiment whenever you find something new. This feature offers a wide range of experiments and can be very fun and exciting.

The combat is all different and unique . Apart from that , the enemy design is great as well. You will be attacked by some lamp who wants you dead and some strange plants. You will also acquire ghost -like figures and an unhappy axolotl boss.  The combat is astonishing and feels great. Enemy attacks are well designed and there are enough variations to keep the game exciting throughout . The enemies are not easy to tackle and will test your reflexes . you need a good movement ability to bring your foes down.

REVIEW : Dandy Ace (PS5)

You also acquire a healing tea set later in the game which you can use once per level unless you find a charge for it. You can also use cakes dropped by enemies to heal. At the end of each level, you’ll get a chance to upgrade yourself and then choose a buff for the remainder of the run. This game will keep you engaged and will want you to ask for more which it will offer eventually. The game is challenging and there is a good learning curve. You can even set the difficulty level according to your wish and there is a little room for forgiveness to tiny errors. But there is a brutal consequence to failure . You will lose all your collected crystals that were used to buy trinkets. It tends to be the loop when you beat a personal best and then die , but it won’t mean anything. You are not stronger, you’ve not unlocked anything new. And you have to go through the same, time-consuming levels to get where you were before. It makes you not want to repeat the game ever.

review-dandy-ace-ps5Sometimes some rooms can throw a lot of enemies on you which will make you go crazy. The music is good which ties everything together and suits the scenes. The card combination and combat through the use of cards is mindblowing . The visuals are cool and garish. The characters and enemies are mindfully developed .
