REVIEW : Fantasy Friends: Under The Sea (PS5)

Three pedestals with eggs may be found in the main hall. They are initially free, but you have no idea what’s inside until you unlock them with your earnings. That kid is the fun side of things. The animal will hatch once you rub the egg with the hand cursor , and you can give it a name. My characters were made to fill in the gaps while my youngest wasn’t playing the game; Mike was first inspired by Mike(s) from UnMetal.

The small critters in Fantasy Friends Under The Sea need to feed right after hatching – first a baby bottle till they evolve, then a wash (under the sea), and finally some affection. You can say whatever you want, but they can’t hear you, so you’ll have to demonstrate your affection by patting them and then entertaining them with one of the various mini-games available.

Your pals will evolve quickly, which means there will be some new mini-games – particularly for feeding them since you’ll have to perform a few chores before they can eat a rainbow cookie. All of this attention isn’t just ‘the right thing,’ but making sure the pals are properly fed, groomed, and pleased can earn you points that can be used to hatch new eggs and unlock new items.

Neptune’s New Clothes

It will help if you read a few of my blogs to realize that I’m a huge customizing fan. Therefore I went crazy for some of the available accessories like specs and jackets for your characters. Not that I’m trying to be flippant, but because I’m not the intended audience, it quickly became tedious.

‘The kid,’ on the other hand, was loving it again, calling at me now and then to show me a new mini-game they’d unlocked or to see if fjre9vmw is a legitimate name (she’s learning phonics, so experimenting). I told them they could call them whatever they wanted. Thankfully, she isn’t a lover of gangster rap, so all of the identities were kept out of the family.

The pace of Fantasy Friends Under the Sea is slow, but it is due to the type of player that would enjoy it. There are no game-overs or storylines; all you have to do is look after your newfound buddies and make sure they’re happy. Yes, it’s a game, but the core aspects are encouraging, and I noticed a difference in her attention to our dog when she played the first game, as I did with the first game.

Billy-No-Mates

Whatever hybrids they are (bunnies with mermaid tails are frequent), the creatures are unjudgmental and will love any sceptic who pays attention to them. They are, however, somewhat demanding, and you may find that after maxing up their stats, you switch to another animal for a few minutes, then return to – say… Mike, who is filthy and needs another cookie.

It’s not about you (unless you’re a child with outstanding reading comprehension) or me – it’s about the kids, and Fantasy Friends Under The Sea does a fantastic job on that front. By the way, you may need to help smaller children with the reading, but it’s only a few minutes long, and the controls are simple and will help their motor skills.

review-fantasy-friends-under-the-sea-ps5This game, in my opinion, is superior to the original. The graphics are a little more polished, the pals are more animated, and the mini-games are a little more varied. There were no technical concerns, which was also significant. While it was initially less expensive than its predecessor, I would not recommend it if it were buggy. Fortunately, it isn't, and it worked with my youngest. The eldest was completely uninterested, so this is certainly a game for younger players – perhaps as young as six or eight years old? You're the parent, so you get to make the decision. Go for it if it's right for you.
