Robot Gentleman 🎩 10th Anniversary!
Robot Gentleman, an independent game studio based in Poznań, Poland, looks back at a decade of creating video games (and more).
The studio was established in 2012 when two human comrades – Dominik Gotojuch and Juliusz Zenkner – put on top hats for the first time and stepped out of their garage (both figuratively and literally). Exactly 1225 hard-working days later, on May 25, 2015, the post-apocalyptic dark comedy 60 Seconds! was released. Since then, over 4.3 million players have explored the wasteland and enjoyed the soup. Some even survived!
Robot Gentleman did not slow down – with even more Robots on board, they took to the stars with the launch of the space survival adventure 60 Parsecs! in 2018. The release brought new and exciting ways to perish in the atomic age, and so far over 680,000 Captains have undertaken the journey. We’re still waiting for them to return.
The 60! series keeps evolving, and Robots continue to experiment and enhance their projects. Both 60 Seconds! and 60 Parsecs! have received multiple, free DLC updates, significantly expanding their base content. Moreso, 60 Seconds! was ridiculously upgraded in 2019. Upon its release the refreshed version – 60 Seconds! Reatomized – was gifted to all Steam players who previously owned the original game.
Robot Gentleman is all about independence, creativity, and soup. But also – community. From its inception, the studio has actively participated in all artistic and game development initiatives. From co-founding the indie collective Pyramida Hub in Poznan, to running an art gallery, and supporting like-minded creatives with the fruits of their labor, Robots get around.
A lot has changed over the past decade, but not the studio’s original directives: create unique experiences and tell engaging stories. Bend the rules where needed, never compromise on quality, and keep creating. After all, it is all about creating. And soup.
