Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, YB Adam Adli (middle), poses on the MPL Malaysia stage during the match between Selangor Red Giants and RSG Malaysia on Day 1.
  • League leaders, Selangor Red Giants, are yet to drop a single game as MPL Malaysia achieves its highest-ever audience count in Regular Season history, with more than 3,900 fans showing up throughout Week 3.
  • Selangor Red Giants sits top of the Regular Season league standings with 12 points, followed by King Empire Esports with 10 points, and Team HAQ with 9 points.
  • Week 4: Minggu Diraja (Royal Week) will feature a series of table-defining matchups between the league’s kings, especially for defending champions, Homebois, who have begun finding form.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia achieved another historic milestone in Week 3 of the Season 13 Regular Season. A total of 3,932 fans turned up from 19 to 21 April at the MPL MY Arena at MBSJ Stadium in Serdang Jaya to cheer on their teams. This exceeds the previous Regular Season high of 3,500 fans set in the opening week of the season.

Week 3 saw Selangor Red Giants maintain their perfect start to Season 13. The Red Giants dispatched RSG Malaysia 2-0 on Day 1 to maintain their spotless record and maximum 12 points, having not dropped a single game in their four matches played so far.

Selangor Red Giants’ Roamer, Muhammad “Yums” Suhairi, gesticulates after his team’s victory over RSG Malaysia on Day 1. He was named MVP of the Match.

Selangor Red Giants displaced King Empire Esports at the top of the table after the league newcomers capitulated 0-2 to defending champions, Homebois, on Day 3. The Season 12 champions continued their winning run in front of a sell-out audience following an opening-week loss to Selangor Red Giants.

Fans completely pack the MPL MY Arena during the Homebois versus King Empire Esports match on Day 2.

Elsewhere, Team HAQ handed NINERS another defeat on Day 2 to keep them winless after five games. This will have been a blow to NINERS, after the team from Negeri Sembilan brought in two new players this transfer window in Roamer Lim “Zayyy” Jin Gian and Jungler Maxwell “MAXXX” Alessandro to improve their performances. Team HAQ dropped precious points on Day 3 after losing 0-2 against TODAK, but will be heartened at having done enough to maintain their third-placed position.

Barracuda Esports secured their first two wins of the season in Week 3, reflecting the transformative power of their refreshed coaching staff; coach Yayan “Backdoor” Hidayat and analyst Lee “XinHan” Kar Keat were transferred in for Week 2. Their first was a 2-0 victory over fellow strugglers, NINERS, on Day 1, while their impressive second came courtesy of a 2-1 win over RSG Malaysia.

At the end of Week 3, Selangor Red Giants top the table with 12 points, followed by King Empire Esports in second on 10 points, and Team HAQ in third on 9 points.

A meeting of kings awaits in Week 4: Minggu Diraja (Royal Week)

Fans are in for a royal treat when MPL Malaysia returns for Week 4 of the Regular Season. Dubbed Minggu Diraja (Royal Week), fans can look forward to a series of table-defining matchups between the league’s kings between 26 to 28 April.

Day 1 of Minggu Diraja will see TODAK take on Season 13 debutants, King Empire Esports. The latter might reference royalty in their choice of name, but TODAK will show that kings are made, being the league’s all-time most decorated team, having won the crown a historic three times in Seasons 6, 9, and 11.

On Day 2: Seru Saturday, Homebois will take on RSG Malaysia in a showdown between two heavyweights with one MPL Malaysia title each – Homebois in Season 12; RSG Malaysia in Season 7. It will also be the first time this season that Homebois’ new Mid Laner, Muhammad “Udil” Julian Ardiansyah, crosses paths with RSG Malaysia’s self-declared King of Taunting, Muhammad “RIPPO” Arif Bin Abdul Halim. Since joining the league from MPL Indonesian team Alter Ego, Udil has been steadily cultivating a persona of an arrogance with his dismissive comments towards previous opposition. Whose confidence will crack first?

Day 3 will see Homebois go up against TODAK. With both teams having the biggest fanbases in MPL Malaysia, expect this to be the biggest match this season. Will the new kings (Homebois, defending champions) usurp the old (TODAK, three-time champions)? Or will old prove it’s still gold? Either way, Minggu Diraja will see the next chapter in the strong rivalry between both teams.

In Week 4: Minggu Diraja of the MPL Malaysia Season 13 Regular Season, the nation’s top 10 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) teams will continue their battle to represent the nation at the MLBB Mid Season Cup, where a life-changing ~MYR 14 million (USD 3 million) prize pool awaits. They will also be competing for the lion’s share of the ~MYR 468,000 (USD 100,000) prize pool in MPL Malaysia Season 13.
