Stellaxy Overhaul Update
It has been quite some time since I last posted a devlog for Stellaxy, but I’ve been hard at work and releasing nightly builds for the Steam version. Here is a list of everything that I’ve been working on!
Features
- Added art asset creators to credits
- Added Controller Support
- Added rebinding key support
- Citizens in City View now move around
- New ship sprites
- Auto Drill Upgrade in Upgrade Shop
- Cargo Upgrades in Upgrade Shops
- CMB background for FTL
- Captain’s Log App

- Added Voices to Sean & First Dozen Aliens
- Added special weather effects for higher graphics presets
- Mini Map now shows planets’ direction when not in close proximity.
- Completed Player animations
- Completed Alien animations for Introductory species
- Procgen city previews with scattered houses for Earth + Introductory species
- Terrain lighting
- Pick up Dust, Plates, Ingots, and Circuit boards in Supernovas
- Moving background and foreground in solar systems
- Tower Boss Battle: Visit the centre of a Galaxy to conquer it!
- Planet generation overhaul for terrain height, temperature of the planet, and ice caps for extra cold planets, plants
- Notice and company logo skipped after first save is made
- MT optimization: Solar Systems, Galaxy Map, and Fights run from 2-5x faster when enabled
Tweaks
- You can now leave City View from the right side
- Currency now changes in value randomly throughout the year, once a minute
- Weapons and engine now seen on the ship
- New App Screen with all previously removed apps
- Volume in Main Menu
- Enter and Esc keys now shown in GUI for tutorial and customization screens
- Quest Menu Revamp
- Red flashing border when rover battery is low
- Rover makes a ding when done charging
- More Trade Centre New Stories
- Planet Spawn rates adjusted
- Mountain Backgrounds now scale with gfx presets and fade in Medium+
- Press I for inventory
- Combat visuals and Sound Effect tweaks
- Dialogue progress continue indicator
- Background for Trade Centre cutscenes
- Better Debug Info
- Default Volume Lowered
- Added more dialogue for pedestrians
- Boss Battle 1 drone ships move around, and have red bullets
- Added new city types (no function yet)
- Galaxy in the background is in a position that represents the sector you are in
- Galaxy Map Optimizations: No more animation when pulling up map, Background aliasing scales with graphics preset
- Solar system optimizations: object count scales better with graphics preset
- Graphics preset is set based on core count on first run. (Low for 1, Med for 2, High for 3-4, Ultra for 4+)
- MT optimization turns off if FPS tanks from it
Bugfixes
- Ship Customization not loading fixed
- Water background was too high
- Game mode selection screen controls fixed
- Replay Tutorial works again
- Custom Controls saves now
- Custom gfx setting saves now
- Fixed new species stats
- Fixed a few cheat menu options
- Fixed Procgen bug causing terrain to change and destroy probes
- Fixed Image load crash bug
- Fixed issue where quest arrow does not guide in some cases (TBD)
