About the Game
Phantom Rose 2 Sapphire is the long-awaited sequel to the popular Phantom Rose. Just like its predecessor, Phantom Rose 2 Sapphire adopts the unique draw-less card mechanic and instead relies on careful management of your deck’s cooldown in battle. The game kicks off with a forgiving difficulty level before gradually upping the difficulty to give players an increasingly steep challenge, making it accessible to both beginners and veterans of the genre.
Take on the role of Aria, our new protagonist, and help her escape the phantom-infested Marion Magic Academy while trying to regain her lost memories.
A Unique “Draw-less” Tactical Card Battler
Phantom Rose 2 Sapphire distinguishes itself from other entries of the genre by removing the card-draw mechanic that forms the base of most card games.
Instead of relying on the luck of the draw, Phantom Rose 2 Sapphire requires players to carefully manage the cooldown period of each card in their decks. Strategizing where and when to play a certain card will dictate how quickly and efficiently you can defeat your foes.
Replayability and an Ever-Evolving Gameplay
With each playthrough lasting approximately 40 minutes and multiple endings to unlock, Phantom Rose 2 Sapphire is designed with high replayability in mind. As you work your way through the difficulty levels (Silver, Gold, and Diamond), not only do enemies grow stronger, players will also need to deal with a range of environmental debuffs and handicaps.
In the higher difficulty levels, each action comes with greater risk and a higher possibility of a wrong move being a fatal mistake. In order to survive, players are forced to tweak and adapt their strategies and playstyles.
Additionally, Phantom Rose 2 Sapphire introduces the Mage class, a completely new class in addition to the Blade class. While the Blade class allows for a more straight-forward playstyle, the Mage class uses “Arcana”, which is a resource specific to the class, when playing certain cards, requiring a more tactical approach.
Customize and Adapt Your Deck
With each playable class having their own unique set of cards, players can collect over 200 different cards. Apart from defeating enemies and rescuing students, players can unlock sets of stronger cards when they clear a difficulty level.
With a greater variety of cards to add to your arsenal, you will be presented with more ways and possibilities to create a deck tailored to your preferred style.
