The dark-themed visual novel The Hungry Lamb: Traveling in the Late Ming Dynasty gets an English translation for the Steam Next Fest
Publisher 2P Games and producer Zerocreation Games announce that its adult visual novel covering topics such as cannibalism or human trafficking The Hungry Lamb: Traveling in the Late Ming Dynasty will include English on the Steam Next Fest’s demo version. To celebrate this, 2P Games are holding a giveaway on the Twitter account. The visual novel is scheduled to be released on Steam from March to April.
ABOUT THE GAME
The Hungry Lamb: Traveling in the Late Ming Dynasty is a text-based adventure with a Chinese traditional style and music. The game addresses darker themes of life such as human trafficking, cannibalism or revenge; but also conveys the positive emotions of being human.
Players will play as a bandit, Liang, who accepts a human trafficking job to escort four girls to Luoyang City. Along the way, they will be presented with many philosophical and moral choices that will lead to different endings.
The plot starts to develop when one of the girls, Sui, mentions that the final client is actually a swine demon who has existed for thousands of years and enjoys eating girls. Sui hopes Liang can join her to assassinate the swine demon and help get revenge for her dead sister and the other girls who have lost their lives in the past. Players must gather information during the trip and investigate the truth behind this job.
CHARACTERS
Liang’s family has been doing business for generations, but he had a dream to travel around the world as a knight-errant instead of following in his father’s footsteps. However, the Tianqi Explosion took everything from him in 1626. After he lost everything, he became a refugee and ended up being a bandit, making a living by killing people.
Sui is a nine-years-old mute girl born in Luoyang. Her sister was killed by the swine demon in Luoyang. In order to avenge her sister, she was abducted by a human trafficker on purpose, just to get close to the demon and assassinate him. Some or all of the above statements are Sui’s lies.
The hidden employer of Liang. According to Sui, it is a swine demon who has practised for thousands of years in Luoyang and likes to eat girls.
