Award-winning Warframe developer Digital Extremes took its 7th annual TennoCon soaring to new heights as the Canadian studio offered millions of Warframe players around the world with an opportunity to unite for an extensive digital and immersive celebration of Warframe packed with major company announcements, game reveals, and an exclusive look at Warframe‘s ‘The Duviri Paradox’ Open World expansion and ‘Veilbreaker’ update during TennoLive. Following a day filled with content reveals, community activities, exclusive giveaways, and developer panels and Q&A’s, players roared with digital cheer in stream chat as Warframe Creative Director Rebecca Ford took to the stage with colleagues for TennoLive to deliver updates on Cross Play development alongside major company news including the premiere of the first cinematic trailer for Digital Extremes’ newest IP Soulframe and the announcement of a publishing agreement in collaboration with Austin, TX studio Airship Syndicate.

In the world premiere of live gameplay from the highly-anticipated Open World expansionThe Duviri Paradox, Digital Extremes evolves its storydriven open world systems like never before. Launching for all platforms this winter, The Duviri Paradox brings players a new chapter in Warframe‘s Cinematic Quest line, complete with powerful upgrade systems and the ultimate challenge to wrest control of Duviri’s color changing Open World from the clutches of a despotic ruler, Dominus Thrax, before the looping cycle resets once again.
In an action-packed and cinematic live gameplay demo, The Duviri Paradox awed audiences by showcasing the Drifter with his Kaithe (horse), along with an appearance from fan-favorite Dax warrior Teshin, working together and interacting to escape Duviri’s endless time loop. “‘The Duviri Paradox’ is a welcomed departure for us. It’s completely different from anything we’ve ever designed in Warframe from gameplay style to color palette and underlying themes, it’s just so uniquely its own and I think players will really enjoy the world we’ve built using layers of color as a narrative technique,” said Warframe Creative Director Rebecca Ford. “Color is a very important thematic element in this expansion and players discovered a little of what that means from our live demo at TennoCon this year. In true bigger and bolder fashion during TennoLive, Warframe players were also able to participate in an in-game immersive relay event unlike any other. Players from around the world were able to unite together digitally in-game for an immersive showcase in The Duviri Amphitheater – one of Duviri’s multiple floating islands – where they could roam and explore a small slice of Duviri’s Open World setting with friends before being teleported to the amphitheaters main stage for a showcase of major story moments and a first-ever up close look at the Duviri Kaithe.
Rise to Heroic Heights as Kahl-175 in Warframe’s ‘Veilbreaker’ Update Coming Soon to All Platforms
During TennoLive, Digital Extremes pulled back the curtain on a new upcoming Warframe update, Veilbreaker, where players will be treated to the return of legendary Kahl-175 as protagonist. In Veilbreaker, players will embark on epic rescue missions and take control of Kahl-175 to liberate his Grineer brothers taken by the Narmer, uniting with other Tenno as they fight against reimagined Archon Bosses in cooperative combat while slaying in style using Protea’s new Caladirus Collection.

50th Warframe, Styanax, Revealed by Digital Extremes with Tease of Animated Short Set to Premiere in Upcoming Warframe Devstream
At TennoCon, Digital Extremes lifted the curtain on its 50th playable Warframe slated to join an expansive roster of distinguished space warriors and marking a historic milestone for the forever franchise that has grown with its player community from humble beginnings since launching nearly ten years ago. Introduced during TennoLive, Styanax was showcased as a valiant Warframe whose design is inspired by Greek champions and other ancient warriors. As part of the surprise reveal, a new Animated Short was teased to players, with an invitation to tune into the World Premiere scheduled for an upcoming Warframe Devstream where players can learn more about Styanax and upcoming in-game activities.

This TennoCon, Digital Extremes is continuing its tradition of giving back and raising awareness for important social issues by partnering with Indspire, an Indigenous-run Canadian organization working to raise the percentage of Indigenous youth entering and graduating from post-secondary education institutions. In addition to organizing digital fundraising activities for attendees at TennoCon, Digital Extremes is proud to make a donation of $200,000 to the organization providing relief efforts and assistance to Indigenous youth in Ontario.
