Ukie’s former Co-CEO joins Bastion to lead b2b division

Bastion has announced the appointment of Dan Wood, former Co-CEO of Ukie, to head Folgate, Bastion’s new b2b division.

Wood has spent the last 12 years at Ukie and Creative UK where he has led the work on many significant projects and big issues faced by the games industry over this time, including: the successful original bid to the GLA to create the London Games Festival; leading Ukie’s work around the introduction of the video games tax relief; authoring Ukie’s Esports White Paper; creating the industry-wide ‘RaiseTheGame’ Diversity Pledge; shaping the sector’s response to trust and safety challenges; co-writing the first-of-its-kind Green Games Guide and building and running business accelerator programmes.

Folgate will focus on providing strategic counsel, corporate communications and practical support for games businesses, working on long-term planning issues as well short-term issue management and crisis communications.

The launch of Folgate follows the recent launch of Bastion G2M, headed by Jo Cooke which provides go-to-market strategies and services for publishers and ambitious independent developers and Pinpoint, Bastion’s influencer marketing division, led by Sam Jones.

Bastion is based in Spitalfields, London and is the lead partner of Onevoice, the global network of games focused agencies.
