I adore it when a game surprises me. I’m rarely surprised by independent games, but Priest Simulator did just that. I was bewildered, amused, and entertained throughout due to its incredibly unique plot, satanic overtones, and strange characters. Will this Early Access game do enough to warrant a recommendation, though?
This frantic and peculiar simulation game was created by Asmodev and released by Ultimate Games SA. Additionally, it features basic building elements, a sizable environment to discover, violence, exorcisms, and a whole lot more. In addition, it has a fantastic soundtrack, is unlike anything I’ve played before and is chock full of dark humour. As a result, I was struck by its unique, albeit strange, concept.
There are more than simply Hail Marys and Rosaries in Priest Simulator. No, it’s a bizarre mix of church management, drug use, drinking, and fighting. Because of this, it is absolutely bizarre, strangely fast-paced, and will have you wanting more. I recently gave a solitary chapter by this team a preview, and the entire game has grown nicely since then. Fortunately, more content has been promised by the creators over the upcoming months, so the mediocre central plot should evolve well.
Orlok, a vengeful and cunning vampire who has managed to become a priest, is under your power. You were offered the position because the community of San de Ville was in severe need of a religious leader.
As a result, you don’t take yourself too seriously and conclude that getting paid and doing a good job at your job are what matter most. But you quickly come to see that the priesthood is far more complex than at first glance.
The game Priest Simulator might have been uninteresting. Instead, it is brought to life by the vast setting, whimsical people, and mystical components. You are expected to assist your devoted followers while expelling the riff-raff as the new town priest. The “Shatanists” are a boisterous group that disobeys your orders. Therefore, the only way to persuade them is to kill them. Although this can appear severe, they are always willing to fight. You have the option of using your fists, firearms, or magical telekinetic abilities during each combat. Whichever option you select will satisfy your supporters and remove these beings from your path.
Some more traditional religious endeavours coexist with disorderly violence. You’ll be expected to perform sacraments, exorcise demons, and rebuild the church. These assignments go along with the 17 distinct plot quests. As a result, you gain power as you complete more tasks. This makes it easier for you to defeat your adversaries and improves the exploration aspects.
If you enjoy exploring your surroundings, you have a car that is available for a call and unrestricted use. Along with your weaponry, you can employ this little contraption to wipe out your adversaries. It lessens the impact of the vast open world and is more useful for finding secret places.
The priest Simulator looks eerie and strange.
I’m not sure what the creators were inspired by, but the artwork is strange, unsettling, and extraordinary. Every violent and religious activity is seen from a first-person perspective, allowing you to get up close and personal. Although everything looks a little shabby and the finish isn’t perfect, this was a brilliant idea in theory. Fortunately, neither the frame rate nor the performance is affected by this. Yes, there were a few small issues, but they were few and far between and had little impact on the hysteria that followed.
But the outstanding audio was what really stood out. Gruzja, a black metal band, has produced an excellent original soundtrack. The violent music exhorts you to kill people and kick asses. The crunching sound effects that accompanied this were excellent. I like the odd acting, the thunderous weapon noises, and the light magical sounds. In conclusion, it sounds like a fascinating but unusual event.
Priest Simulator offers a complicated control scheme with a wide variety of skills and powers to master. It takes some getting used to because there are many options to choose from and submenus to sift through. Fortunately, the gradual levelling up and fluid motion keep this from being too difficult. As a result, you’ll quickly master each element and become an arse-kicking priest.
There is little replay value and longevity in the current build. However, Priest Simulator holds a lot of promise thanks to the addition of new content and a sizable playable universe. You’ll like it while it’s happening, but when it’s over, you’ll wish it had gone on longer.
Priest Simulator is a strange insight into a religious lifestyle.
Priest Simulator is fun, but I’m not sure how well it represents the work of a priest. I could be mistaken, but I haven’t observed a lot of violence following the weekly Sunday service. Nevertheless, it doesn’t matter that the plot isn’t realistic because you’ll still find it fascinating. It won’t appeal to everyone, but I thought the plot was unique. So, I suggest you purchase it from this site! Can you succeed by pretending to succeed? Exorcisms are performed, followers are placated, and those who challenge you are struck down.
