REVIEW : Hashiriya Drifter (PC)
The world of gaming has come a long way and it surely has come a long way in the category of racing games. HASHIRIYA DRIFTER, this game was released last year in August and since then the game has received all kinds of remarks. Let’s put it to the test. HASHIRIYA DRIFTER is developed and published by Midnight Games. The game was released only for PC but for different operating systems like Microsoft Windows, Linux, and macOS.
The game is inspired by the old school street drifting culture of Japan. The developers have described the game as “The ultimate drift racing game that you’ve always wanted to play is Hashiriya Drifter! This immersive, epic car game also provides the Nascar experience with an update. In this online racing game, there are dozens of cars you can choose from, and you need to burn rubber on the asphalt if you want to win” and I think it’s a bit of a stretch. Initially, you will be getting 20,000 dollars to start your career with, and in this 20,000 you have to select a car from a range of cars but honestly, you will only see them you can’t buy them as you don’t have enough money to buy them. The customization in this game will just surprise you as it’s a lot and you don’t see this much in racing games these days. The graphics of the game are not that good, they are just okay and I think developers should improve them. The minimum requirements to play the are an OS: 7, 8, 10, Processor: Intel i3, Memory: 1 GB RAM, DirectX: Version 9.0, Network: Broadband Internet connection, Storage: 2 GB available space. The physics of the game is quite better than expected. There are some natural scenes in the game that you will like and the rest of the graphics of the game feel bland and outdated. I was impressed by the number of cars and customization available in the game. As an automobile enthusiast, I found it very interesting, and that is what kept me interested for the most part. The online multiplayer game system works fine but there are not many players who can challenge you and after a point, you will find yourself doing the same thing, going online and finding players and challenging them. The career mode of the game will challenge you to some extent but not so much without targets the game is not so motivating.
It is a mobile game’s PC port, the menu often does not allow you to scroll because it is intended to be used for touch controls so you have to use your arrow keys. It said it had support from the controller. It doesn’t work on an Xbox controller. Physics and graphics are what you would expect from a mobile game, and the game lacks it. The graphics of the game need a lot of improvement. Other than graphics here are some other issues that the developers need to take care of, Each level of the game is the same, exactly, Across the tiers, you will find no targets hence there is nothing to motivate you to keep on going, the game gets highly repetitive only after 1 stage and it kills the fun, also the game has no tutorials and no tips, upgrades or customization of tire and suspension doesn’t have an effect on the drive stability and feel. Crashing into AI does not stop their drift, but the car glitches out.
