Dallas Fuel to sign 18-year-old main support to 2022 OWL roster
The Dallas Fuel announced the first new player signed to their Overwatch League roster as part of a series of offseason moves: Hyeonseok “ChiYo” Han joins the team’s five returning players, pending league approval. The young new talent will fill the roster position of main support for the Dallas Fuel ahead of the 2022 Overwatch League season.
Having competed in Overwatch since 2018, this will be ChiYo’s first Overwatch League action. The Overwatch League requires players to be a minimum of 18 years old to be eligible to compete at the league level. ChiYo recently helped lead his team to a first place finish in Overwatch Contenders 2021 Season 2: Korea while playing for O2 Blast. Prior to playing with O2, he competed with RunAway and Team Griffin. ChiYo regularly reached rank 1 on the Korean Overwatch server leaderboards and has shown proven success in competitive play throughout his Overwatch Contenders career. He primarily plays support heroes Lúcio, Mercy, and Brigitte.
“We’re very excited to bring on young talent like ChiYo,” said RUSH, Head Coach of the Dallas Fuel. “He’s shown a lot of promise in Overwatch Contenders Korea and performed very well in tryouts. We think he will really help bring our roster to the next level in 2022 as we adapt to the new game Overwatch 2 and compete for a championship.”
ChiYo joins the current Dallas Fuel roster which includes:
- Dong-ha “Doha” Kim – DPS
- Euiseok “Fearless” Lee – Tank
- Hanbeen “Hanbin” Choi – Tank
- Jun “Fielder” Kwon – Support
- Yeonghan “SP9RK1E” Kim – DPS
