In a new blog post on UnrealEngine.com, Siobhán Hofma of IKinema explains the technology behind its VR and virtual production technology, LiveAction. With LiveAction software, the actor’s performance is live captured using motion capture cameras while the data is instantaneously streamed to Unreal Engine and auto-cleaned using ACP filters, then perfectly retargeted to the virtual character (with zero latency). Companies including Hasbro, The New York Metropolitan Museum and the Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice demonstration at SIGGRAPH 2016 have leaned on LiveAction to bring their projects to life.

Paragon is getting into the holiday spirit with the start of the new Carnival of Hearts event. From now until February 27, players can purchase four themed skins, including Love Machine Howitzer, Soul Mate Dekker, Burning Heart Serath and Love Punch Crunch. As an added bonus, players can earn the Burning Heart Serath skin for free until February 13 by playing on a team with someone wearing the skin.
