PLAYISM is proud to announce that Momodora: Moonlit Farewell, the culmination of the Momodora series of Metroidvania games by Bombservice, has received a major content update including a brand new boss battle and more on March 15, 2024.
Brand New Features!
New Boss Battle
An entirely new boss battle is now available to those who finished the main story. You can experience it by talking to Dora at Koho Village! Be ready for a challenge!
New Boss Rush Mode
After spending some time at the Last Layer, players will be able to meet a new character, a magi called Patata. Through her you will be able to challenge a new “Wanderlust” boss rush involving every boss encounter in one single sequence.
New Dialogue
An entirely new dialogue scene has been added to further expand on Dora’s story and thoughts. This new scene can be accessed at any moment at Meikan Village, even if you’ve already seen the credits.
Expanded Fishing
A fishing menu has been added to the game to keep a record of the amount of times each fish has been caught. New fishes have also been added to the game, and rarer fishes have been regionalized, making them only available at specific fishing holes. Try to catch them all!

A Metroidvania with Gorgeous Pixel Art and Animations
Every stage you’ll explore is drawn in meticulous pixel art, and every character moves smoothly and dynamically with their own animations. The visual effects have also been improved from previous games, bringing the mystical and enchanting world of Momodora to life.
Explore Leisurely, or Fight Challenging Foes?
You can pick freely between the casual, lighthearted “Light” difficulty if you want a more laid-back experience, or the “Normal” difficulty if you’re looking for a challenge.
The Light difficulty also includes a toggleable Adaptive Difficulty feature that makes your character stronger every time you fall in battle.
Use the Sigil System to Customize Your Run
You can obtain “Sigils” from shops, exploring the map, or from certain events. Effects range from strengthening attacks or healing, to summoning magic swords to smite your enemies.
After you obtain a Sigil, you can activate or deactivate it whenever you like, so you can swap them on the run and customize your abilities to match your playstyle.
Blood-Pumping Boss Battles
On your journey, you’ll encounter all sorts of formidable bosses, some with their own special gimmicks, and some being simply gigantic! Use your attacks and Sigils wisely to defeat them all.
Helpful Companions to Aid You on Your Journey
On the way, you’ll also meet various “Companions”—adorable little chibi-styled characters who will follow you around. They’re not just here to look cute, though, as they’ll support you through various actions such as attacking enemies with you.
A certain familiar face also returns as a Companion, so if you’re a fan of the series, why not try to collect them all?
