Lifting the lid on its brand-new and exciting social features, Maze Theory has today published a new trailer alongside an updated version of its 2023 Content Roadmap, as free updates continue to hit Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom.

The trailer – put together for the UploadVR Summer Showcase – casts light on some of the brand-new combat missions that are coming to the game, as well as a new ‘social’ way of playing that allows up to six players (and their avatars) to meet, chat, and play games together in the infamous Garrison Pub.

The new social features, which will be available on Meta Quest 2, and are designed to promote interaction between the game’s playerbase, featuring mini-games, such as darts, that will – in the words of Maze Theory – “promote emergent gameplay amongst players and extend the experience beyond the narrative drama of the main game.”

“This will be the biggest update for Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom to date – we believe players are going to love the new social space, which will bring a brand-new way for players to connect and enjoy the game,” said Tim Jones, Game Director at Maze Theory. “You will also notice we’re switching to a bi-montly DLC format from July onwards. This is to give us a bit of extra time needed to ensure the updates are the best they can be, and to enable us to deliver really focused and meaningful updates that resonate with players. With even more announcements to come, fans can expect further exciting updates before 2023 is out!”

Inspired by the BAFTA-winning drama, Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom is an original story written in collaboration with Peaky Blinders’ producer and brand owner Caryn Mandabach Productions, and with series creator and writer Steven Knight. The game is created in partnership with the distributor, Banijay.

Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom is available now on Meta Quest 2 and PICO 4 and is currently in the Meta Quest 2 Summer Sale for the reduced price of $29.99, $24.99 and £24.99, £18.99, for a limited time only.
