REVIEW : Daymare: 1998 (XBOX Series X)

Daymare: 1998 was developed by Invader studios and published by Destructive Creations / All In! Games. It is a survival game in a horrific setting. DAYMARE 1998 is a third-person game whose survival mechanism is very difficult and difficult to defeat the enemy. Combat requires a strategic approach, giving a glimpse into the history of different characters and revealing deep and dark folklore.

REVIEW : Daymare: 1998 (XBOX Series X)

The story focuses on secret research facilities, deadly chemical weapons, and the Special Security Team investigating incidents that could turn into something far more dangerous than a simple security breach. Follow in the footsteps of elite soldiers, helicopter pilots and rangers to take part if turns a small peaceful town into a death zone and a citizen into a bloodthirsty monster. You need to complete the creature before looking for clues or evidence to understand this mess. Keep an eye on your itinerary; your resources can run short in this situation! Anything can happen if your nightmare comes true.

Daymare 1998 was originally intended to be a remake of Resident Evil 2. Plots, characters, conversations, and virtually all official references to it have changed, but they all smell like Resident Evil 2. It smells like Raccoon City. It’s undeniable, and we love it. But it must also be said that you have to eat a lot of vitamins to become a biohazard. This is the only important blank that separates the two titles.

REVIEW : Daymare: 1998 (XBOX Series X)

Players are transformed into three different character roles, each with their personality and specific goals. When the helicopter crash survivors Raven and Rev flew, remember the classic soldiers at Keensite, the city theatre of the event, who starred in many episodes of the biohazard story, and of course. However, when it comes to the meaning of a particular character, the third character, Sam, is the star of the situation, in our opinion.

Suffering from illusions and nightmares, opening his eyes, accustomed to the loneliness of his work as a forest man (but not so much), a mixture of surprises, fears and anger, he reveals himself You’ll face a bigger situation than you would, obviously the best of the three co-stars in depth and thickness.

Of course, understanding the basis of the complete story of Invader Studio’s production requires patience, readability, and sound distrust. For obvious reasons, some characters are stereotyped and speak frequently. Players have never experienced it directly in the first person and are told that no one wants to read it through a very long text transcript.

But those who do not just copy and paste the story of the first episode (especially the second episode) of Capcom’s story, thanks to the well-made atmosphere, without being obsessed with horror or horror. You will notice that. Episode) At the crossroads of a thoughtful one between the different personal stories of the three playable characters, it leads to a climax that satisfies us, as mentioned above.

REVIEW : Daymare: 1998 (XBOX Series X)

When it comes to the tech department, the bottom line is that Invader Studios staff are curious to know what they can do if they get a bigger budget than the one created by Daymare: in 1998.

It is a classic survival horror, where the dead will soon rise and attack us. Fortunately, we will be armed with pistols and submachine guns for protection from the first moment. However, despite the interesting premise, the gameplay is completely unconvincing. The controls are clumsy, slick, inaccurate and somewhat clumsy. Aiming and killing zombies on any difficulty is expensive, but the higher the level, the more difficult it will be. We’ll do pure classic survival horror style melee attacks, but not overly precise.

Zombies are the main enemy of the game and victims of a deadly virus that doesn’t stop spreading. But we won’t find much variety in their designs. Almost everyone will be a civilian in the early stages of mutation, but sometimes you may encounter other creatures that are more monstrous. Not only will these enemies make it harder for us to kill them, given their health, but it will also eliminate their attacks. They will grab us more often than usual and throw green smoke at us. As a result, we gradually lose our lives. And this has nothing to do with whether or not we are at some safe distance.

The shooting mechanism is tricky and provides hidden complexity when snapping to other controls. The reload mechanic is a good example of this. In Daymare, bullets are not automatically used to fill the shop. Instead, it would help if you manually combined the magazine (or pistol) with the bullet. You can then choose one of the two reloads to replace the current magazine with a full magazine. Dare I say a quick reload reloads the gun quickly but drops the magazine as a result. This means the battles will be faster, but you risk delaying the fight if you don’t have the firepower to fight the herd. Slow reload adds magazines to your inventory and adds new magazines to your weapon, but it can take valuable time.

If you don’t have a spare, you’ll need to go to your inventory and reload it to match the weapon you’ve loaded with ammo. This is tedious work. Also, entering inventory doesn’t pause the game, resulting in very crazy inventory management. This is a big part of where Daymare stands apart. Everything you do has a certain opportunity cost.

At the beginning of Daymare, you will also learn about some of the puzzles you will encounter throughout the game. One of the particularly interesting in the first section relates to the knowledge of the Greek gods and the puzzles that involve looking at a real keyboard. It’s undoubtedly a simpler task for PC players. The puzzles are not that difficult and often only require a few tries, but they are very rewarding. Using real notes and things like Morse code to figure out a few of them is an interesting experience that reminds me of playing Resi and Silent Hill a few years ago. After a tour of the

facility, you discover that the scale of the outbreak is slightly larger than previously thought. Resident Evil’s narrative is too long to fit into the next game without spoilers. It features power-hungry business people, contemplative advocates, genetic mutants, and a group of white-haired tough guys fighting for revenge.

There is nothing to add to last year’s exhaustive gameplay analysis of last year’s PC version. Daymare for Console: 1998 is the same game as a few months ago, with no additions or significant rhythm changes. And mechanics. A game with all its strengths and weaknesses.

We are faced with a slow game that drives us to explore our environment and search for resources and sponsors. This is where some inventory management plays a significant role in the game’s mechanics. Added to this is the medium difficulty, which is already on the base difficulty, which requires a fair amount of lead before many enemies can finally surrender.

If everything was fine, but at the start of the adventure, I have to admit that it’s very difficult to keep up with the erratic 30 frames per second the title dances on a tightrope. Especially since it gets to a point where it seriously impacts gameplay. , need to be adjusted. Refrain from using manual guidance (you can choose between manual, assisted and automatic) to be sensitive and adaptable to the situation. Some scripts don’t have all the details you need, and after seeing how well they perform on your PC, especially at 60fps, you can consistently get the nasty taste of poor optimization. However, there is a glimmer of hope, as the study itself has fixed the bug and has warned that it is a known bug that may be fixed soon. It took around 20 hours to finish the game. This is a very high number in this genre. Just before the end of the game, another frustrating bug occurred. Looking through the achievement list, I found something to prevent him from playing and dying. It was meant to deliberately slow down the game so that it wouldn’t die. Shortly before the end, when he wanted to be safe, he was killed by a boss zombie 10 steps behind the ground. I finished the game in 8 hours with the death of one person.

Glitch is not the only problem with Daymare. Cutscenes are often very miserable. Resident Evil 2 is known for its poor voice acting and poor writing, which is considered attractive. On the other hand, Daymare sometimes feels sick. The narration is consistently poor, often lip-synching, and the character behaves strangely, swinging its arms and not behaving like a human.

REVIEW : Daymare: 1998 (XBOX Series X)

Realistic graphics and Gore are awkwardly contrasting with this camping style in a way that doesn’t work for me. This is especially relevant for some of the more painful moments. Finding a young child and his dead father holding a gun beside him and being disturbed by unruly text is creepy in a way that no one in Daymare feels.

review-daymare-1998-xbox-series-xDaymare: It's no exaggeration to say that 1998 is my favourite on Xbox One. The gameplay is decent, the puzzles are solid, and the writing style is powerful in most cases. There are many things that people are absorbed in. Especially when it comes to folklore, which makes it interesting to repeat. Unfortunately, glitches, weird design choices, and common bells and whistles affect the overall experience.
