REVIEW : Regular Factory: Escape Room (PC)
It’s just another normal day at the factory. Your supervisor has advised you to restart the assembly line. As you start looking about, your curiosity gets the best of you, and you decide to look into what this facility is producing…
As soon as you start the game, you’re inside an abandoned but mysterious facility. The visuals were beautiful and detailed. The green and white walls, together with the orange machinery, added to the enigmatic atmosphere of the chamber. It was almost as if you knew there was more to your surroundings than just a “Regular Factory.” On the surface, the plant appears to be abandoned, but digging deeper reveals a darker secret.
“Regular Factory” is currently exclusively available on Steam for PC. When you download the game, you will see buttons to start a new game, load an existing game, access the options menu, view the credits, and exit. This game is played in the first person, and you can move about using your mouse for directional control and regular WASD controls for travel. Despite the highly realistic graphics, there are no red herrings in this game. If you need to zoom in on an object, a circle will appear for you to click, and if you need to interact with a puzzle, a jigsaw piece will appear for you to click. Moving about was mostly straightforward, and interacting with stuff was simple.
The first stage surely gets you acquainted with mc2games’ style of play. The riddles become increasingly tough as you advance, but you can adapt rapidly.
All of the riddles in this game were tied to the story and environment. Although there isn’t much searching, you must be mindful of your surroundings and look for hints. Prepare to snap screenshots or have a pen and paper prepared unless you have a photographic memory. When you find documents containing clues, they must be studied ‘in place’ and cannot be taken with you for later reference. Each problem contains one hint that will point you on the right route. I definitely recommend using it if you’ve been stumped for a long time.
“Regular Factory” is mc2games’ fourth and most recent game. The bundle pack, which includes “Palindrome Syndrome,” “Tested On Humans,” and “Between Time,” is available on Steam for $35.96. The plot was hazy but intriguing, which is precisely how I felt when I initially began playing the game. The first stage on the factory floor with the assembly line allows you to become acquainted with the controls and the mc2games style of play.
The storyline for “Regular Factory” is ideal for any movie buff! It draws you in and leaves you wanting more. Without giving anything away, the ending absolutely caught me off guard and was executed flawlessly. It was terrifying and unforgettable! I recommend this title to fans of the Escape the Room genre looking for a modest level of challenge. Add a little of a tale with a plot twist at the end, and you’ve got a fun way to spend a few hours.
