Build Your Own Alien Family

Each Trebhum has access to over 50 mutations, allowing them to fly, erupt tornadoes, sprout spikes, and do other things. This allows Trebhum’s different techniques to conquer whatever challenges they encounter! Trebhum also has a distinct appearance as a result of each mutation, resulting in a wide range of adorable species that are bred to be as resilient as possible in Trebhum herds.

a fresh mutation

Trebhum has a brand-new, flaming mutation that enables them to blast flame jets from their trunks. The power ensures that any potential predator is aware that Trebhum might be too hot to consume (particularly for those with fur!)

It’s challenging to suggest this game. On the one hand, it’s quite different from other games (especially if you haven’t played Spore, Creatures, or Evolva from the ’00s). In a time when everything is generic fantasy and the majority of joyful stories are about days spent on a farm, it recounts an interesting story. This game is a must-have if you’re sick of the same-old game genres, locales, and stories. It is intriguing to explore and appealing visually. Understanding a completely new world with its dangers and rules is a novel experience.

+ Simple controls make it easier to play without much difficulty (though some boss fights and “runs” were hard).

+ Lots of rolling (if the Rock of Ages series by the same developers didn’t give you enough).

+ Trebnums Yoohoo!

On the other hand, I felt as though I had to fight the game’s mechanics most of the time to enjoy myself.

  • – The core game mechanics, such as jumping and aiming, felt incredibly clumsy on kb+m.
  • – Semi-automatic save system, only accessible outside of “calm” times
  • Every encounter there is a huge task due to inventory management, check
  • – Timed platforming tasks and a required temple, checked
  • – Enemies take your powers away (and a tedious, protracted search to “keep” them forever) – check
  • – Sequences in which you must almost WALK for a bit (or perish in the purple illumination) – checked
  • Additionally, I experienced a unique issue that somehow made me go back to where I was in the first chapter, which is why the 24-hour threshold was reached.

Overall, I give this game a thumbs up and highly suggest it because it is something original and daring.

This was achieved, and I appreciate the development team for that (as a long-time fan of the Zeno Clash series, too).

But as soon as the credits rolled, I exhaled with relief and decided that I would rather remember this game fondly than play it for another minute.
