Sanguivore: Twenty Below Early Access Introduces a Ton of Updates and Improvements

Co-op horror game implements improvements whilst in Early Access from Unreal Engine 5.3, visuals, performance to user experience, quality of life and more

Publisher Forthright Entertainment and developer Blood Eater Games released co-op horror game, Sanguivore: Twenty Below on PC Steam via Early Access earlier this month and are already continually providing a host of new updates and improvements to the first-person escape-room style nightmare game.

Players currently experiencing Sanguivore: Twenty Below whether solo or with friends, will notice updates occurring regularly as they strive to survive and strategize their mission in the nightmarish town.

Updates include:

Unreal Engine 5.3

Performance Features:

  • Nanite Landscapes โ€“ Implementation to the game to reduce GPU rendering times for landscapes.
    • Corpse Bodies โ€“ Overall appearance improved and new bodies with more Level Of Details.

Sound:

  • The under-the-hood audio system has been reworked to be compatible with the latest engine version. More sounds are now binaural and therefore these sounds replicate sound as a real person hears them, making them sounds more immersive and easier to track.
    • Sounds for The Noble are being trialled which are more befitting a gentleman of his size, as well as new screaming sound effects for the other adversaries.

User Experience and Quality of Life

Updated inventory and journal system โ€“ UI systems have been replaced with a much slicker digital tablet which players can use to access their items and information gathered much quicker.

Visual Overhaul

Police/Sheriff Department:

  • Much more detail has been included to fill in the scene with hundreds more assets utilising dead space bringing the environment more to life, while also improving performance.
    • New waiting areas have been added and workstations are now furnished with photos of family members and the stationery required to complete day to day jobs.

Game Performance/Optimisation

  •  Steps have been taken to improve GPU performance such as the use of the Lumen lighting system where the game utilise lighting based on system capabilities, improving the efficiency of assets and textures.
  • New shadow ray-tracing helps provide a significantly clearer image in darker areas.
  • Character Visuals, Audio and Animations
  • The vampire grunts have had a visual pass, with male and female versions of the vamps now with a terrifying look with more expression and presence in the world.
  • Currently concepting different behaviour for vampires to give them more of a threatening feeling.
  • Thereโ€™s now have a full suite of new animations for all hiding places (including desks).
  • A new animator has joined the team with experience from AAA studios tackling several missing player interaction animations.
